Customer Review Summary

The negatives are fewer but specific. One reviewer who grew up in India found four dishes overly sweet and bright red, with tongues and fingers stained after the meal, and said the chicken had to be washed to remove the sweet taste. Another reports a hard piece of plastic in a Peshawari naan after an hour-plus wait and a meal that was not hot. A third reports a bad stomach that took a full day to recover from after eating there.

“As someone who grew up in India and is familiar with authentic Indian cuisine, I understand that food served abroad may not taste exactly like it does back home. However, I would still expect it to capture some genuine Indian flavours. We ordered four dishes, and a complimentary serving of Bombay Potatoes. Unfortunately, none of the dishes resembled Indian food in taste. Most were overly sweet, heavily colored bright red, and lacked the depth of spices and flavors that Indian cuisine is known for. The colouring appeared artificial, and our tongues and fingers were noticeably stained red after the meal. My husband had to wash the chicken to get rid of sweet taste. I’m sorry to say that I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.”

“Nice People but I recommend another Indian restaurant, as whenever I eat from here, I get a very bad stomach. In comparison to other Indian takeaways, this place isn’t very good. Usually takes me a full day to recover from the food. Sorry to say I would avoid. 😔”

“Food took over an hour to arrive but this was understandable as they explained over the phone it was due being busy because of the new year. When it arrived it wasn’t hot, but we still gave them the benefit of the doubt. When I took a bite of my Peshawari naan, I felt a hard piece of plastic in my mouth, you can see this in the picture. This was absolutely unacceptable, even during the rush, ensuring food is made to an edible standard is important, especially taking care to make sure it can’t harm a person!”

“Wonderfully tasty food. Cooked to order so is always hot when it arrives. Delivery drivers are great. Unfortunately they don’t open Christmas Day so we had to order elsewhere, it was awful compared to Curry x press. I will never order elsewhere again.”
