Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out friendly, welcoming staff, with one waiter praised for knowing the menu and encouraging new dishes, and another group saying they were happily seated without a reservation. Food draws the widest praise, described as flavoursome, good quality and generous in portion, with a friend's tandoori lamb called lovely and a great range of spices noted. One visitor says the kitchen tailored the dishes to their preferred spiciness, and another mentions several beers including alcohol free. The food divides opinion, though. Two diners found it tasteless and bland, one suggesting it is aimed at British tastes and not very authentic, and another found the curry had too many mushrooms lacking in flavour and wished they had ordered the fish bhuna. A couple more call it average or on the mild side. A few add that the decor is a bit bland and the restaurant is hidden down an alleyway, yet the room was busy and lively, and one visitor ended the evening chatting with friendly locals.

“Nice Indian and was full so clearly popular. Large choice on the menu. Staff all very nice. We both thought the food was a bit tasteless and bland. Might be aimed at British tastes but wasn't very authentic. Enjoyed the meal just didn't wow us.”

Good to know
“Indian Cuisine is a combination of subtle tastes. The flavours are varied as the climate and people of Asia. Fragrant, pungent and warm spices, from all the Asian countries are delicately blended in meticulous proportions to create the dish we present to you. Each dish will have its own distinctive flavour and aroma which cannot come from any curry powder, but from spices which have to be specially prepared each day fresh for each individual dish. All preparations that are cooked in the Tandoor are marinated in yoghurt together with a special blend of herbs and spices. This process seals in the goodness. The blending and preparation of spices is centuries old craft and indispensable to Indian Cuisine.”
