About Altisidora
Altisidora is a Grade II listed country pub in Bishop Burton, near Beverley, where the original wooden beams are still in place. The pub has three dining areas, including the main indoor room and a dog-friendly area by the bar, where water and treats are set out for dogs. The kitchen works through pub staples such as a steak and Malbec pie, a chicken, ham hock and leek pie, and haddock fish and chips. A private dining room gives groups a space of their own. The team also runs weeknight food offers. A car park on the side of the building serves visitors arriving by car.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the pies, with the chicken and ham hock pie and the steak and Malbec pie named repeatedly, and close behind come the fish and chips, the schnitzel and a Thai red curry. Diners describe a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, a dog friendly area near the bar with water and treats, and friendly staff, including one who accommodated a diner with allergies. One group of eight with children was well looked after, and another party was squeezed in on a fully booked Sunday. Several reviewers mention a car park with plenty of space, and one suggests reserving ahead for larger groups. The caveats centre on consistency. One reviewer found the haddock overcooked with heavy, greasy batter that left fat pooling on the table, though the sea bass was excellent. Another called the food disappointing for the price, with a small menu, a long wait and a broken chair that meant moving tables. One also found the Thai curry portion small. Others praised a haddock and chips served piping hot at the table within minutes.

“Went today .. It wasn't a pub chain when we last went .. We were on table 23 .. Firstly let me say front of house staff are great but that's it .. Seating my chair was broken and we were seated in high seats I'm 5 9 had to ask to move tables as I couldn't sit in my seat which they did .. seemed to wait ages for the food.. Food .. really disappointing for the price .. it's a really small menu .. Just avoid it for food and use it as a village pub ...”

“Good service and really pleasant atmosphere and location. Food was variable. Sea bass was excellent. Fish and chips not so. Haddock fillet was not a good quality one, slightly overcooked and the batter was very heavy and greasy, with fat dripping off the fish and pooling on the table!”

“We have dined at the Altisadora quite a few times now. On this occasion, we were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. We brought a couple of friends who had not been before. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Steak & Malbec pies for two and a Turkey Dinner, plus the limited edition Hawksmoor IPA & steak pie. All Delicious. We will be back.”

“We visit regularly, as it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. You can eat in the main indoor dining area, outdoors or there's a dog friendly area near the bar. Plenty of tables in all three areas. Excellent choice of food, we try something different each time we come. On one occasion one of our party had allergies and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Good sized car park on the side so we always get a space. If you have a larger group then definitely reserve a table ahead of time. The staff are welcoming and friendly.”

“Our Haddock & Chips was delivered to our table within 10 minutes. The portion was generous and piping hot. We enjoyed the main and the dessert. Service was good. All in all a very nice experience. I would recommend this restaurant.”

“Housed in a charming Grade II listed building in the picturesque village of Bishop Burton, The Altisdora is a quintessential country pub which has been sensitively renovated. The wooden beams that gave the original building its character and unique charm are still intact. For sunny days, we have a stylish patio with oversized umbrellas, classic pub benches, and a private pagoda. All are welcome at The Altisdora. Drive out to the country for a pub lunch with your partner. Catch up with friends over drinks and dinner. Get the kids in the car and meet the grandparents for a traditional family Sunday lunch. Beautifully crisp roast potatoes, silky gravy, tender meat, and flavoursome vegetables are prepared from scratch every Sunday. We also d...”
