Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return for the full English breakfast, praised for generous portions, fresh ingredients and a perfectly cooked poached egg, with the sausages singled out as the star by one diner. Close behind are the breakfast stack with avocado, bacon and eggs, the hot smoked salmon with scrambled egg on sourdough, the breakfast flatbread (large enough to share, one notes) and eggs Benedict. The hot chocolate and English tea also earn praise, and one diner got a shortbread biscuit with a flat white. Service is described as friendly, warm and welcoming, and the chef and owner stopped to chat about the food at one table. The main complaint comes from a two-star review: the owner or chef questioned why a party arriving late for breakfast had not booked, even though there seemed to be plenty of room inside, and the reviewer called it rude and said the big breakfast could have been bigger. Several others say Sundays get busy and suggest booking ahead. One reviewer who read the negative reviews first booked anyway and found the cooked breakfasts exceptional.

“We called here for a late breakfast, we spoke to the owner/chef outside as we parked up, and asked if they were open. He questioned us why we hadn’t booked, and why people don’t book a table, he was rude there was loads of room inside so could easily had a table for us. The food was good, I had a big breakfast, was big but could be bigger. Wouldn’t go back, why book at a cafe! Won’t go back”

“Fantastic breakfast here today Friendly greeting and professional service from the lady that dealt with us. I had the hot smoked salmon with scrambled egg and avocado on sourdough and it was nothing short of incredible! My wife had the small English breakfast and loved it too. We like good food and what stood out here was the quality of ingredients and the standard of cooking and presentation. The chef and owner is a very pleasant chap who took the time to come and chat with us about the food and it’s very clear that he cares about every single dish that leaves the kitchen. Highly recommend to anyone”

“It may be a bold statement to make, but I'm fairly sure that this could be the best Full English Breakfast that I've ever eaten (and I've had many - excellent, poor & everything inbetween!) I was super hungry on my visit & therefore went for the large breakfast, which I certainly did not regret. You often find in most cafès & restaurants that high quality = small portions & large portions = lower quality, but my food ticked every single box. Everything tasted really fresh & my poached egg was cooked to perfection. Nothing tasted greasy & it's clear that the chefs use a minimal amount of oil in their cooking methods. The vegetables in many Full English Breakfasts also lack freshness & taste, but I can honestly say that the vine tomatoes, mushrooms & peashoot salad were all bursting with flavour. It's also worth mentioning how I didn't have the "salt hangover" which you can sometimes get after a cooked breakfast & this again speaks volumes about the high quality. We also found the lady who served us to be incredibly warm, friendly & attentive. It is safe to say that my partner & I will be visiting many more times in the future! I must try the Rarebit, as I've heard great things.”

“We stopped in for breakfast and were genuinely impressed from start to finish. The service was absolutely outstanding – friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. Chloe and her team are fantastic! The food was equally impressive. The full English was cooked perfectly with generous portions and quality ingredients throughout. The breakfast stack with avocado, bacon and eggs was beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as it looked. Everything was fresh, hot, and packed with flavour. The portion sizes were excellent, the prices were very reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. It's becoming harder to find places that get both the food and service right, but this place absolutely does. A great spot for breakfast or brunch, and we'll definitely be returning. Highly recommended to anyone looking for delicious food, generous portions, great value for money, and first-class customer service. 👏🍳🥓☕️”

“Came here for breakfast and it was a great experience. I ordered the breakfast flatbread and it was great! Quite large so depending on your appetite you may want to share between two people. All the other food ordered between people looked lovely too and had no complaints.”
