Customer Review Summary

Diners most often point to the huge main screen for big matches, with one reviewer praising the atmosphere during Portugal against Spain and another calling the bar spacious. Several mention friendly, pleasant staff, including a bartender with good chat, and plenty of games on the side. The recurring complaint is the viewing itself. Reviewers say the sound runs a few seconds behind the picture, screens show goals at different moments so one corner celebrates first, and streams froze or buffered during an Arsenal match and a World Cup game. Three describe the bar closing early or calling last orders because it was quiet, during the Arsenal game, the Conference League final and a rugby league match. Others note no Guinness, Staropramen or Peroni, damaged seats and wires hanging down. One reviewer left after half time to find another venue.

“Despite the promise of showing the rugby league we were abruptly removed around 18:00 even though the closing time was 23:00. The previous member of staff was attentive and a delight but the staff afterwards were dismissive and lacked professionalism.”

“I was pleasantly surprised by Franklin’s Sports Bar. I came here to watch the Portugal vs Spain match, and the atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and everyone working there seemed happy to help. I also noticed that all the customers were respectful and well-behaved, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The venue was clean, including the bathrooms, which is always something I appreciate. There were plenty of games and entertainment available, creating a fun atmosphere even before and after the football. Overall, everything was very pleasant, and I had a great time. I would definitely come back to watch another match or simply spend an evening with friends. Highly recommended!”

“NOT A SPORTS BAR. Marketed as a bar that opens until 11pm showing the sports games of the day. I'm a Crystal Palace fan and arrived at 19.40 for the Conference league final only to be told last orders had been called because it was too quiet. Who is running this place? Clearly not a sports fan. Incredibly disappointing not to see the gane after making the trip into Belfast. **Update: i marched up to Laverys and they had the match on multiple screens with commentary.”
