About Spaghetti Arms

Spaghetti Arms is a family restaurant at 8 Union St in Belfast, where the kitchen opens onto the dining room through a large glassless window. The restaurant is small, with tightly spaced tables. The Sunday roast comes with roast beef, mash, gravy and an oversized Yorkshire pudding. The dinner menu includes Daube of Beef. Vegan and dairy-free options run through the menu, including a vegan version of the roast, so mixed groups can share a table. Dessert is a homemade chocolate brownie.

Customer Review Summary

Sunday roast is the main draw, with reviewers describing roast beef, creamy mash, well-distributed gravy, and a Yorkshire pudding larger than any they had eaten before. Close behind are the vegan and vegetarian dishes, including a vegetarian wellington, vegan beef spring rolls, a vegan chicken stack, and a lime sorbet. Elsewhere on the menu, diners praise the daube of beef, vegetable dumplings, crispy fried chicken with salt and pepper seasoning, a juicy beef sandwich, and a homemade chocolate brownie. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and accommodating, including when one party ran late. The caveats are practical: the tables are a snug fit, and one reviewer notes the glassless kitchen window lets roasting smoke drift into the dining room and onto clothes and hair. Another says the dinner menu differed from those at the door. A couple suggest booking ahead. One diner with a dairy allergy was served a regular meal adjusted to be dairy-free, including the first restaurant mashed potatoes they had ever eaten.

“By far the best meal we had in Ireland - the Sunday dinner was phenomenal - ad were the regular items from the menu. We couldn’t recommend this place more - totally worth the visit.”

“I absolutely loved this place. Its chic, relaxed and realistic atmosphere was spot on. The staff were fantastic, friendly and personal. I had the vegetarian wellington, which was my 1st time ordering vegetarian and it was delicious. Highly recommended dinner here, we will definitely be back next time we are in Belfast.”

“This was by far the best Sunday roast I've had. It was excellent value for money and the food was sensational. The homemade chocolate brownie for dessert was so good. Service was absolutely brilliant the staff couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be eating here again if in belfast in the future.”

“Lovely cozy place with a nice atmosphere, friendly service and great food. The Daube Of Beef was so delicious! The Vegetable Dumplings were great, as well. It was a wonderful experience! Keep in mind that: 1. The menu served for the dinner was different to the menus at the door (see pictures). 2. A (well deserved) 10% service charge is already added to the bill. 3. The kitchen is connected to the main space with a large window that has no glass (see pictures). That means the smoke of the roasting/cooking is getting into the main space and might stick to your clothes and hair, however it wasn't exaggerated.”

“Visiting from California,we met up with our N. Irish family for Sunday dinner. The roast dinners were amazing, the best homemade style, gravy, Yorkshires and all the trimmings. The staff, atmosphere and service were all top class. Intimate space, book ahead to not be disappointed! Best Sunday roast in Belfast ☘️”
