About Casa Manila Belfast
Filipino cooking anchors Casa Manila Belfast, a restaurant on Lisburn Road that previously traded as A Taste of Manila. The menu runs in a straightforward order, starters first, then mains that arrive with rice, and desserts to close, with crispy aubergine fritters among the openers and pancit canton egg noodles with prawns on the main list. Portions are generous. Dessert brings homemade ice cream, including a mango durian flavour that gives the meal a finish made in house rather than bought in. The owners work the floor alongside a small team, so the room is run hands on. High chairs are available for families dining with young children. The kitchen serves Tuesday through Sunday and closes on Mondays, and reservations are recommended.

Customer Review Summary
Crispy eggplant fritters draw repeat praise, described as crisp outside and soft within, with one visitor recommending the crispy aubergine alongside the pancit prawn. Close behind sits the pancit canton with shrimp, called perfectly cooked and well seasoned, and reviewers also single out the smoky inihaw na liempo with its chilli garlic vinegar dip, the bagnet for melting fat under crunchy skin, ginataang kalabasa with shrimp, fish escabeche and lechon kare kare. Portions come up repeatedly as generous, and several describe the cooking as authentic home-style comfort food that feels like a taste of home. The owners and staff are consistently called warm, welcoming and attentive, with one noting a server checking in throughout the meal. Two temper this: one found the pork sisig on the salty side, another found service slow and put it down to a small team, and one was disappointed no dairy free dessert was available. Others end on the homemade ice creams, the mango durian and a halo halo sweet but not overly so.

“The food is delicious, inihaw na liempo is my go to. Rich, juicy and smoky pork belly, paired with a chilli, garlic vinegar dip on the side that cuts through the pork richness never goes wrong. The owners are super sweet and welcoming. The restaurant gives off a warm family vibe. For dessert, the ice creams are homemade and the flavours pair perfectly, not being too sweet but full of fruit flavour. Service is on the slow side, which could be attributed to a small team. Overall, try it for yourself and see if it’s worth returning! It definitely is for me!!”

You can really tell they care about both the food and the customers. The atmosphere felt homely and authentic, making it a great place for both casual meals and family dinners. “Visiting from San Francisco I was surprised to hear about a Filipino restaurant in Belfast. I was not disappointed. The fish escabeche was fresh and the lechon kare kare was delicious! To top it off the halo halo was sweet but not too sweet :) I would recommend Casa Manila!”
