Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the curries, naming the chicken korma, chicken madras, chicken tikka masala and chicken biryani as cooked well and full of flavour, with generous portions. Close behind is the staff, described repeatedly as warm, friendly and helpful, including one team that surprised a birthday guest with a candle and a wish on a dessert plate. Also mentioned are the Bang Bang Chicken, a cold Cobra beer, and a raspberry daiquiri mocktail called refreshing. One reviewer with gluten allergies found the staff knowledgeable, noted an allergen menu, and said the main dishes are gluten free. The caveats are modest. One diner found the room quite loud and the food enjoyable but not exceptional, with spice levels slightly toned down for those who like bold, traditional heat. Another warns that the tables are very small, so a neighbour's naan can touch a plate, and had to rearrange to keep a safe zone.

“Visited with my wife and had a fantastic meal. I had the chicken biryani and my wife had the chicken korma, and both dishes were absolutely beautiful. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, full of flavour and was cooked perfectly. You could really tell that care had gone into the food. The atmosphere was buzzing without feeling overcrowded, creating a great dining experience. Every member of staff we spoke to was warm, welcoming and genuinely friendly, making us feel looked after from the moment we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nu Delhi Restaurant Lounge to anyone looking for excellent food, great service and a brilliant atmosphere. We’d return in a heartbeat.”

“We were visiting Belfast and came across this restaurant through Google reviews, and we’re so glad we did! We absolutely loved our dining experience here. The food was lovely, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. Every member of staff we interacted with was warm, polite, and genuinely welcoming. When I made the reservation, I had requested a simple dessert plate with “Happy Birthday” written on it for my partner. The staff went above and beyond by surprising him with a candle and a birthday wish. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and he was absolutely in awe. It made his birthday celebration even more special. A huge thank you to everyone who served us and looked after us. Your kindness and attention to detail made our visit unforgettable. We would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Belfast and will definitely return if we’re ever back in the city!”

“Staff very knowledgeable about gluten allergies and cross contamination. All main dishes are gluten free. Papadums also gluten free but may contain traces as I believe they are fried in a shared fryer. Food was so tasty. Just be mindful that if people you are with are ordering naan bread or gluten containing dishes that the tables are very small and may accidentally touch your plate. Had to do some rearranging to make sure I had a safe zone. They also have an allergen menu that tells you exactly what allergen is or isn’t in each dish.”

“The food, service and restaurant was amazing! This is the best Indian food we’ve had! The flavors were spot on and the meat/ fish we had were cooked so well. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant!”

“We were originally looking for something traditional, but we pivoted to Indian at the last minute and it was the best decision of the day. As a traveler, I’ve had food all over the world, but this spot in Belfast really stands out. The vibe inside is modern and sharp, which is exactly what we needed after a long day of work. I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala, and both were on point—rich flavors and perfectly cooked. Paired it with a cold Cobra beer, and it hit the spot. Coming from New York, my bar for good international food is high, and this place definitely clears it. Don't let the fact that it's not "traditional Irish" stop you; this is a top-tier meal in a great city. Five stars for the food and the quick service.”
