About Peppercorn Cafe

Peppercorn Cafe sits on Woodstock Rd in Belfast, a cafe taking walk-ins throughout the day rather than bookings. The menu runs from a made-to-order Ulster fry to chip cheese and curry, alongside a gujon wrap with cheese, bacon and taco sauce. Dine-in, collection and delivery are all offered, so the food can be eaten on site or taken away. A step-free entrance serves visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. Pensioner rates are available. The room overlooks the street, and public parking sits nearby with a pedestrian crossing right outside the door. It opens daily for daytime service only.

Customer Review Summary

The Ulster fry is the main draw at this Woodstock Road cafe, with several reviewers calling it filling, tasty and great value, and one praising it as made to order and freshly cooked. Close behind are the large portions and the friendly, fast staff, which reviewers mention repeatedly even when the cafe is busy. Beyond the fry, one diner enjoyed a gujon wrap with cheese, bacon and taco sauce, and another found the chip cheese and curry tasty. The complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found the Ulster fry rudimentary, with the tea separate, no top-up offered and no plates collected afterward. Another says an order was cancelled after a long wait for food that never came, with no reason given, leaving a family without their lunchtime fry. On a warmer note, one reviewer who left a mobile phone and bank cards behind says everything was returned intact the next day, and the cafe even posted a message on Facebook to reach them.

“Went in today with friends and had a gujon wrap with cheese, bacon and taco sauce. It was sooo tasty! I look forward to getting it again. I also had the chip cheese and curry and it was also tasty and great value for money.”

“I purchased an Ulster fry, which was rudimentary. Tea was separate. No plate collection after I finished. No top‑up offered for the tea. No follow‑up for dessert. A forgettable experience despite the online hype.”

“Incredible Value! Offering dine-in, collection and delivery options, this popular traditional cafe does a roaring trade, but we've yet to have any trouble getting a table on the weekends when we've stopped in for brunch. There's public parking available nearby and a pedestrian crossing right outside, so access is very easy. Service is both friendly and quick, and almost everything on the extensive menu is priced at well under £10, with further savings available for pensioners. However, this doesn't mean any sacrifice in quantity or quality - the food comes in large portions and has been unfailingly delicious every time we've visited. Highly recommended!”
