Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often come for the large fry, with the Irish and veggie versions both described as fresh, not greasy and generous in portion. Close behind is the staff, repeatedly called welcoming, chatty and friendly, with one parent describing how they remembered two girls from an earlier visit and made them feel at ease. The rhubarb pie, a toasted wrap with salad or chips, a pot of tea and homemade scones also get mentioned, and several reviewers call the place cosy and the prices reasonable. Reviewers also note the chicken is halal. The criticisms are small and specific. One reviewer found the bathroom a bit dirty at the lunchtime peak, and another found one server quite rude while the others were pleasant. A visiting American group asked for cream in their coffee, was asked whether they wanted whipped cream on top, and everyone ended up laughing about it.

“Lovely local café serving up homemade food. Scones are amazing.”
  • Neal McFee
“As Americans we frequently order coffee with cream and sugar, or cream and sweetener. Little did we know that cream actually means whipped cream and this misunderstanding on our part was handled very nicely by asking if we wanted the cream on top of the coffee. Ultimately we all had a laugh and the weird request by us was handled with grace and understanding. We appreciated the service and food while we were there. We will definitely go back if we ever visit Belfast again. Great cozy atmosphere.”
  • Louise Barnes
“Food was yummy and good value but one of the servers we found quite rude but the others were pleasant enough”

“Nice, cosy place for a breakfast. The staff is quite welcoming and the food is good too. Chicken is halal so a bonus point”
  • Dawn Avan
“I would just like to thank the staff for their kindness and helping my girls who visited here for the 2nd time. One of the girls is autistic and we have very recently let her travel into the city to go shopping with her sister. The staff here are really amazing and so welcoming to them even remembering them both from a few weeks ago and making them feel welcome. I would personally like to thank you for you kindness towards them both. Also food is always 10 out of 10.”
