About Sunflower Public House
Sunflower Public House is a renovated pub in Belfast at 65 Union St, where a cage still sits over the front door. Beamish is on tap alongside Budvar and Erdinger, and the beer selection also includes cask ale and local beers. Pizza is served from a pizza oven in the beer garden. Live music plays during the week, including traditional Irish music and bands, with the musicians performing from a booth. Memorabilia is displayed inside the pub.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the Beamish, singled out as the pub's pride and joy and the reason several came, with a rarer draw in the Budvar and Erdinger on tap, which one visitor found fresh and poured well. A diverse beer selection and a cask ale also get mentioned. Close behind is the music, with traditional Irish sessions, bands during the week and musicians playing in a booth. The beer garden, with umbrellas and heaters for year-round sitting, and the pizzas from the new oven also draw praise, one reviewer calling the pizza next level. Staff are described as friendly and helpful, and one wedding party credits them with a great night. The atmosphere is called lively, relaxed and a vibe, with memorabilia inside. One reviewer calls it grungy, and another suspects the pizza comes from a separate vendor. Visitors note the security cage over the front door, explained to one as a reminder of how the neighbourhood has improved, and say it felt welcoming, with staff helping one family take a photo out front.

“I have absolutely adored Sunflower after the first visit a couple years ago and it has gotten even better since its new pizza oven refurbish! The staff are always super lovely and friendly, with a lively atmosphere inside with memorabilia from over the years. During the week they will have traditional Irish music or other brilliant bands playing. Would really recommend especially with their beer garden!”

“Came specifically for the Budvar and Erdinger on tap. Rare find that didn't disappoint. Both were fresh and poured perfectly. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Highly recommend if you appreciate good beer.”

“Seems like a great pub. Has that gnarly grungy vibe. Where you don't want to touch anything other than your pint. Beamish is the pride and joy here. I didn't try the food, unfortunately. Not a bad environment but wear hipster clothes if you want to fit it. Two pints for less than a tener”

“A great pub in Belfast with a diverse selection of beers that you'd struggle to get elsewhere in Belfast. The beer garden is great, you can sit there all year round with the umbrellas and heaters. Staff are friendly and there is frequent live music.”
