About Portside Inn
Portside Inn is a pub at 1 Dargan Rd in Belfast, beside the exit of the ferry terminal. That spot makes it a handy place to eat before or after a crossing. Inside, historical items from Belfast are on display. The kitchen serves separate breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, and the dinner choices include rump steak with mushrooms, chips and pepper sauce, as well as a chicken burger with chips. Fish and chips is also on the menu. Diners are served at the table. The pub is open daily and keeps going late, so it works for an evening meal as well as a daytime stop.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the food, with burgers and steak singled out first: a chicken burger described as fresh and gorgeous, a burger with cheese melted over it, and a rump steak one diner's wife thought tasted more like fillet. Close behind are the chips, called perfect fries and lovely, along with a stacked chicken and fish and chips plate. Several note the pub's position before or after the ferry, and the portions, prices and friendly, fast service come up repeatedly, including a server who was great with the kids and staff who stood out during a long day's wait for a ferry. Diners also mention outdoor seating, nice music, historical Belfast items inside, and a welcome for dogs. The one critical account found a steak with mushrooms and chips greasy and not cheap, though pepper sauce helped and the front of house staff were attentive. Another reviewer returned for the same burger they remembered from a hospital visit years earlier.

“It was absolutely brilliant. The girl with blonde hair was friendly and welcoming and she was just fab. Food was amazing too. The burger had the perfect amount of cheese melted over it. So, compliments to the chef. It’s exactly how it was when I first got it after coming from the hospital when I was younger. Anyways, would come again!”

“Brilliant friendly pub with delicious pub food at very sensible prices, would definitely recommend it. My wife reckoned her steak was probably the best she'd ever had, rump that was more like fillet, superb. The chap who served us, Will I think his name was, couldn't have been friendlier, a credit to the place.”
