About London Sweet Centre
London Sweet Centre is a fully vegetarian Indian takeaway in Bedford, on Ampthill Rd, that works as both a sweet shop and a snack counter. Milk cake is sold in gift boxes, which suits sweets bought to give to someone else. The savoury side covers chaats, including papri chat and samosa chat, along with pani puri and vegetable samosas. Pakoras and bread pakoda are also on the menu for anyone wanting something fried. Payment is by cash or bank transfer only, and cards are not taken, so it helps to arrive prepared. The shop opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
The picture is not uniform. One reviewer found the vegetable samosas were mashed potato rather than mixed vegetables, while another found the shahi paneer not very good and the vegetable korma could have been better, with paratas only okay. One reviewer reports stomach pain and diarrhea after eating pani puri, bread pakoda and channa pattura, and says Gujja sweets bought on the same visit arrived with fungus and a bad smell. A takeaway diner noted the samosa flavour improved by the next day.

“Love this restaurant so authentic. The samosa are the best I have eaten. The Thali is great with good choice. One of my favourite places to eat in Bedford. The sweets are also very good in the show. It’s cash only or bank transfer no cards taken.”

“We have ordered takeaway. The paratas were okay, the vegetable samosas were okay on day 1, but the flavour was better next day. The Shahi paneer was not very good. The vegetable korma could've been better, too!”

“Popped in New Year’s Eve afternoon- based on recommendation, place was busy staff looked distressed quantity but not quality . Ordered VEGETABLE SAMOSAS - to my disappointment it was ruther mashed potato samosas ( very disappointing 😕) I expect mixed veg samosas made by local people to what supposed to been traditional… nothing like it”
