About Maypole Farm - Dining & Carvery
Maypole Farm - Dining & Carvery is a pub on Fletcher Rd in Bedford, open daily with a carvery served seven days a week. The carvery display stands at the entrance, with ham, turkey and beef on offer and a large choice of vegetables, gravy and sauces. A salad carvery and vegetarian dishes such as a cauliflower salad give meat-free diners their own options. Mornings bring a breakfast buffet where items are kept hot and topped up, Yorkshire pudding included. Afternoon tea is on the menu, and cakes are a regular feature of the dessert side. Families can split up between the spaces, with an indoor play area for children and a beer garden for adults. An ice cream parlour on site serves sundaes.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is what reviewers return to, served with a choice of ham, turkey and beef, a wide spread of vegetables and plenty of gravy. Several call it excellent, and one praises the good helping sizes and even the salad carvery. Close behind are the cakes, which one diner took away in slices and a group of 35 called a highlight. The breakfast also draws praise, with one reviewer noting a Yorkshire pudding among items kept hot and topped up. A vegetarian describes a lovely cauliflower salad. Reviewers describe friendly, welcoming staff, and one group said it never felt rushed. Complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found the meat portions very small, and another objected to the cost of bottled water, saying four 330ml bottles added up to almost a full meal's worth of drinks. One reviewer reports finding mould inside their glasses. Others mention the pub's historical ambience and free parking by entering a registration number in a machine on arrival. One reviewer notes a discount for Blue Light card holders.

“Carvery was good can't complain apart from very small meat portions but what really put me off this place is £3.45 for a 330ml bottle of water, cost me almost £14 for 4 bottles of water. Water is human right and humans need it to survive, charging this kind of prices for water is totally unacceptable unless it's in the airport or in the sky on a plane and this place charges more than both the airport and the sky. We don't need luxury bottle of water, trying to maximise your profit on something we as humans need to survive is total disgraceful. Use cheaper water bottles doesn't have to be luxury, you're not a hotel you're a pub, you can not justify water costing more than a soft drink or almost same price as a pint of beer”

“Come here if you fancy a side of mould caked inside your glasses. Simple food, thought it was reliable without the health hazard as an extra.”

“I cannot praise Tamzin & Lewis enough for their help, local knowledge and hospitality. It was so refreshing to have them help my husband and I as we stayed at the local Premier Inn and they made the whole experience very relaxing, enjoyable. They are so warm, welcoming, friendly and I would recommend the food too! Fresh, tasty and lots of empty plates!”
