Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the welcoming staff, from a landlady described as kind and warm to bar staff who engage with a laugh and a manager who was good with children. Food comes close behind. Diners name the lasagna, a chicken burger, a steak cooked medium rare, the ultimate breakfast bap from the new brunch menu and the sandwich deal at lunch. Puddings such as apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding and raspberry frangipane also draw praise. Several call the bill fair, and one says the pub is always busy but never leaves them waiting long. The one criticism is a child's fish dish, where the batter was lovely but the fish itself wasn't the greatest, which that reviewer found out of character. A group with a dog felt welcome, and one family held a celebration of life here, noting the manager listened and added lovely little touches. Another large group arrived unbooked on a sunny evening for a birthday and was accommodated.

“I came in for lunch with my daughter and was served by Alyssia. She was incredibly helpful! From recommending a suitable meal for my daughter and constantly checking to make sure everything was ok and if I needed help with anything. One of the best experiences I’ve had at a local pub all down to her!”

“The pheasant is such a great space to meet up and to have lunch. Absolutely love the sandwich deal. Lovely bartender Alyssia with the lovely lashes and a smile. Ordered the fish for my little one and the batter was absolutely lovely however the fish in itself wasn’t the greatest but that didn’t stop us going for dessert. Not sure what happened with the fish as usually is the best pub to get fish from. Maybe just wasn’t lucky. Look forward to coming back”

“The Pheasant is what you might call a ‘proper pub’ serving a selection of real ales and craft beers, including the latest brews from down the road at Brewpoint. We also have a variety of gins and spirits, including an extensive range of soft drinks. At the front of the pub, you will find our glorious terrace, perfect for soaking up the sun in the Summer months. Grab your friends and settle in for the longer days with a nice chilled bottle of rosé or G&T. We are also dog friendly! Your four-legged friends are welcome in the bar area and garden.”
