About The Spotted Dog Barking
The Spotted Dog Barking is a pub and restaurant at 15a Longbridge Rd in Barking, close to the train station. A private function room at the rear gives parties and groups a space of their own, and a venue hall downstairs is also used for celebrations. The bar stocks a wide selection of beers, spirits and cocktails, and a large TV screen shows live sports. A beer garden sits downstairs, and the pub adds entertainment to its line-up for evenings out. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring their pets along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the wide choice of drinks, from beers to spirits and cocktails, with one praising a cold vegan cider served immediately on a quiet weekday afternoon. Friendly, efficient staff and a good atmosphere come up repeatedly, and several mention reasonable prices and a location close to the station. Food earns praise too: one reviewer enjoyed cheese and onion crisps with a drink, and another credits the menu for adding MOMO and dried meat, which they call unconventional for a pub but really nice. Others mention entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays, live sports on a TV that was not overly loud, a downstairs hall used for a birthday party, and a beer garden with plenty of seating. A long-time visitor feels the pub has become rowdy and noisy compared with its quieter past. Another reviewer, despite food being advertised on the front signage, was told no when asking for a meal and went for Chinese instead, as they had three years earlier.

“Enjoyed a nice cold Vegan Cider here during off-peak hours (2.45pm to 5pm on a hot Wednesday afternoon). I was served immediately by a polite staff member. There are many seating options in this pub which I liked a lot. The outdoor beer garden downstairs has many bench typed seating tables and the ground floor (the main entrance to the pub) has outdoor seating overlooking the main road and there are indoor bar seats and regular indoor seating dotted around too. A large TV Screen was playing live sports which wasn’t overly loud. I could use my laptop in there which made my time extra comfortable and I ordered cheese and onion crisps to go along with my drink. Thank you!”

“I've been coming to Spoted Dog for a very long time and it has always been quite pleasant and entertaining. They offer a variety of beers and, obviously, lots of beverage choices. I had my birthday party at the venue hall downstairs. Will definitely recommend it to all of my friends and family.”
