Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch turns up again and again as the reason people come back, with the turkey and ham (often the £25 two or three course deal) repeatedly praised for generous portions and gravy served on the side. Close behind, the sizzling duck, salmon starter, and smoked cod with its sauce win specific praise, alongside a fondly noted touch of candles placed in birthday pavlovas. Staff draw consistent, repeated warmth: reviewers describe them as friendly, accommodating, and going above and beyond even during a large festive booking. Complaints center on inconsistency in the kitchen: chicken and bacon arriving burnt with a missing sausage, a pork loin swapped for chops without warning, a vegetarian fusilli called sugary and oily, oily fajitas, overcooked vegetables, and chips one reviewer suspected were fried in the fish oil. One diner reports veggie fajita wraps arriving with mould, which staff apologetically replaced right away. A few also mention seating mix-ups, including a 16-person party split across small tables and a booked table not ready despite a confirming phone call, though one such incident ended with the group deciding all was forgiven.
