About Fayre Grill
Fayre Grill is a restaurant on Wellington St in Ballymena, open daily for daytime service only. The seven-item menu keeps to breakfast staples, with the Mini Fry and Large Ulster Fry as the two named plates. Orders are cash only, so it helps to have money on hand before sitting down. There's no reservation system, so the room takes walk-ins throughout the day. A step-free entrance allows visitors with mobility needs to enter without difficulty, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. For those eating off site, takeaway is also available. The pace stays consistent from morning through the daytime hours, with no evening service on offer.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often bring up the breakfast fries, several describe the Ulster fry and mini fry as generous and well liked, with one calling them the best chips they'd had in ages and another praising the mini frys for the whole family. Close behind, regulars mention the cooked breakfast and coffee as consistently good, and one describes the toastie as nice. Chips are a recurring flashpoint though: several reviewers report them undercooked or arriving cold, and one reviewer describes food poisoning concerns after chicken and chips arrived cold, alongside a separate report of a roast beef that was too tough to cut. Other complaints include a vegetable soup called thin and flavorless, a chicken curry seen as overpriced for pre-cooked chicken, and a £3.50 Lucozade called excessive. One reviewer notes being caught out by the cash-only policy and having to find a bank machine. Service is mentioned positively more often than not, with staff called friendly and, in one case, going the extra mile.

“Typical reply to the truth below. Owner should be careful about insulting customers online. Everything said in the review was honest. Just amended to 1 star. Awful place that is over priced and lacks any real quality. Avoid. Owner is clearly an abusive person to individuals and cannot handle any feedback that might just keep the business open. Say anything further that is slanderous, I will report it. Terrible. Not a customer in the place. Ordered a meal with chicken and chips. Chips arrived cold and I mean 'cold', as in probably not even cooked. Asked for a glass of water and while I appreciate it's not a legal requirement to provide regular water, it just feels of greed on the businesses behalf. Friendly staff might make a slight difference, but potentially food poisoning people is a whole other matter. I'm just glad I never bit into the main part. Maybe time to replace your kitchen old hats. I would guess they probably don't even care less about these honest reviews. They'll blame everyone else except taking responsibility for this own poor performance. And, wallah the owner has validated that point below.”

“Ate here yesterday with my daughter and 3 grandchildren. We had mini frys which were excellent. The kids meals were great too. Best chips we have had in ages. The server was really nice not sure if he's the owner.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
