“We are regular customers here but have just had such an awful experience. We ordered vegetarian spring rolls, got them home to find them full of meat (this is the second time this has happened). We called up, expecting it to be dealt with in a fair way but the man who answered was anything but. He lied and said they only do vegetarian spring rolls so it was not possible there was meat in it, we know they do meat spring rolls. I had to argue with him for five minutes over the fact there was meat in my spring rolls, have added photos for his benefit, only to eventually be offered some replacement ones next time we come in. Why would i call to say there was meat if there was not? Why argue with a regular customer over a £4 dish? Poor poor customer service. The lady who normally answers the phone is much fairer.”

“We had takeaway. It is worth noting that delivery stops at 9pm, but it was only a short stroll for collection from where I was. Food was amazing. Big portions good prices.”

“Best Chinese takeaway in Altrincham. Their Salt&Pepper chips and curry are amazing, better than the ones served by the neighbour fish and chips. The size of the meals are very generous. Staff very gentle and friendly.”

“I thought I’d treat myself to a meal delivered to home. There was a little language problem over the phone resulting in the driver having to phone me for my address and so the delivery being slightly delayed. All handled professionally so no problem. I had the Salt & Pepper Ribs (delicious with plenty of meat and taste) followed by the Duck in Plum Sauce with Soft Noodle W/Beansprouts as an accompaniment. The duck consisted of good size tasty meat and a generous portion. The sauce and noodles were also of a high standard. Truth be told, I was full after the ribs so had the duck and noodles the following evening 😊 It would be a boon if we could order & pay via a website or pay contactless on delivery as I prefer not to use cash. Mr Yung’s is not the cheapest but it’s the best that I’ve had in the area and I’ll certainly be a repeat customer. As an aside a more local establishment to me (NOT MR YUNG’s) priced their food plus delivery charge (fair enough) plus a “service charge” of 50p. They don’t explain what the extra service is and to my mind may be “trying it on” so I didn’t order from them. This is how I found Mr Yung’s. “Every cloud.....” as they say.”

Customer Review Summary
Salt and pepper chips are the most frequently praised item, described as crispy, with reviewers also naming the salt and pepper ribs, curry, crispy duck, duck in plum sauce, Cantonese fillet steak, kung po king prawns and char siu. Diners describe generous portions, hot and fresh food, and friendly staff, and several call it the best Chinese takeaway in the area, with a few saying they return after trying elsewhere. Complaints about service carry real weight, though. One reviewer says vegetarian spring rolls arrived full of meat for the second time, and that the person on the phone insisted this was impossible before offering replacements on a later visit. Another reports being overcharged on several orders and says staff were rude when this was raised. A separate critic calls the roast duck with ginger and pineapple tinned and the chow mien slop, with an hour's wait and lukewarm food. One reviewer notes delivery stops at 9pm, and another wishes for contactless payment on delivery. A recurring detail is the salt and pepper chips arriving crispy and hot.
