Customer Review Summary
Pizzas lead the praise, with a pepperoni pizza noted for its light base and garlic bread mentioned alongside it. Close behind is the staff, described repeatedly as friendly, polite and helpful, and the pub as clean and tidy inside and out. Other diners name gammon with egg and pineapple, scampi and chips cooked perfectly, a soup full of flavour with a warm bread roll, apple crumble with toffee sauce, and a weekend breakfast platter that feeds two adults and two kids. The beer garden with astroturf and a tv also earns a nod. The complaints are specific. One reviewer reports that staff accused them of using drugs when they were only there for a drink. Another found the prawn cocktail tiny and the Hunters Chicken low quality, and felt ignored at the bar. A third describes lukewarm food, soggy onion rings dripping with oil, and drinks that never arrived despite chasing the bar twice, finally waiting at the bar until they came.

“Really disappointing and nowhere near as good as the usual Marstons that I visit near Chorley. The staff were focussed with the outdoors area and pretty much ignored me as I waited at the bar. The one person who stood out was a male in his late teens. He was very warm and friendly and really seemed to focus on the customers. The other staff less so. The food was very disappointing. The Prawn Cocktail starter was so tiny you could almost count the prawns at a glance. The Hunters Chicken was very low quality, with the BBQ sauce tasting like the cheapest supermarket brand. The Chicken Masala was reasonable. The restaurant was a little time-worn and this was surprising due to its relative newness. Apart from the person I have already mentioned, the remaining staff seemed disinterested”

“won't be returning to this establishment. My experience was marred by unprofessional behavior from the staff, who made a completely baseless and false accusation that I was using drugs while I was simply there for a drink. Being treated with such unfounded suspicion and disrespect is unacceptable. I prefer to spend my time and support in places where customers are treated with basic professional courtesy. They even managed to short the refund by 32p, which just perfectly sums up the level of professionalism at this place.”
