Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the food at this basement pub, with a jumbo haddock, a burger topped with haggis, black pudding and bacon, and loaded nachos named as highlights. Close behind is the staff, described as welcoming, helpful and polite, with a couple of reviewers praising the bartenders' banter. The beer comes up too, with a decent cask ale choice in good condition. One reviewer found no gluten-free beer but called the gluten-free menu fabulous. The main reservation is the food for one reviewer, who found it a bit ordinary and tasty but like it came from a pub food service. Another notes that a booked table helped because the room is small and fills up. Several call it cosy, and one mentions the catchy music and comfortable seats. Reviewers also say it is easy to miss on this stretch of Union Street, and a few plan to return. Some companions even took leftover prawn poppers away with them.

“Asked for a GF beer...none available. Eyeroll as this didn't bide too good for GF food choices! How wrong was I! GF menu was fabulous and tasted as good as it sounded. Well done guys!”

“First time visiting this cosy basement bar/restaurant hidden away on aberdeens Main Street. Haddock was jumbo and well worth the price. Burger was with haggis black pudding and added bacon and was cooked to perfection, Both meals arrived freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. I would return 100% The staff were extremely welcoming, the seats were comfortable and music was catchy.”

“Popped in for a pint of cask ale while visiting Aberdeen. Choice was decent, and the beer in good condition. Good but if banter from the two bartenders, so all in all, and good visit and would recommend for a beer.”
