About Noose & Monkey
A gastropub in Aberdeen, Noose & Monkey sits on a corner at 31-35 Rosemount Viaduct and works through a menu of 20 dishes. Midweek, a Margarita club runs alongside a pie of the day, such as chicken and haggis pie, so a drink and a main can be planned together. Scottish Mussels come as a starter, and the Sunday Roast is offered as a two-person deal with a bottle of red. The kitchen also turns out soups, including Cajun lentil, along with fish and chips and cauliflower dishes. The drinks list covers cocktails, local brews and scotches. Inside, the pub offers a bar for seating, high stools by the windows and candle-lit tables.

Customer Review Summary
Soup draws the most consistent praise, with the Cajun lentil soup and the carrot and cauliflower soup both called outstanding. Close behind are the Scottish mussels, the chicken and haggis pie and the bang bang cauliflower. Others single out fish and chips, including a half portion made up for a child, nachos with cajun chicken, and the seafood sharer. Cocktails, a good selection of scotches and local brews also come up, along with friendly bar staff, good music and a cheerful crowd. The Sunday roast splits opinion. One diner calls it wonderful, while another says the pork was dry, the roast potatoes and vegetables soft and wet, the gravy watery and the yorkshire burnt black, with everyone at their table who ordered the roast reporting the same problems. That reviewer also describes a corner of black mouldy lettuce in a burger. Another found the burger just OK and suggests toasting the bun and offering to cook the patty less than well done.

“My sister and I arrived without booking for lunch before going to the theatre. Despite being busy, we got a table immediately and were assured we would have plenty of time before the theatre - and we did. We both ordered fish and chips which were delicious. Service was quick and attentive and we did not feel rushed. Will definitely return next time we visit Aberdeen”
