  “Fantastic food, drinks and people. On a quick trip into the city at the WTC area, I found this little gem. Sat at the bar and had a lovely pint of Guinness, along with the Ten House burger. Everyone was super friendly. I highly recommend stopping in.”

  “Seeing all the firefighter, police, and military patches from around the world was incredibly meaningful and emotional. The history and tribute within O’Hara’s are genuinely moving and were the reason we wanted to visit. Unfortunately, our experience with the barman completely overshadowed that. We were a group of seven female tourists, aged between 30 and 85, simply looking for somewhere to sit, have a drink, cool off, and rest our feet for a while. We weren’t loud, disruptive, or causing any problems. Despite this, the barman was rude, patronising, and made sexist comments that left us feeling extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. We even asked if we could sit near the bar because we weren’t ordering food, and that’s exactly where we were seated, so that clearly wasn’t the issue. We bought drinks, were polite, and this had nothing to do with tipping. I appreciate that everyone can have a bad day, and I would normally give someone the benefit of the doubt. However, this was without question the worst experience I’ve ever had with bar staff, especially as a tourist visiting another country. The hostility we were met with was completely unprovoked and made all seven of us feel uncomfortable. It genuinely felt as though he had a problem with both tourists and women. It’s such a shame because the bar itself has so much history and significance, but the way we were treated completely ruined what should have been a memorable visit. I want to be clear that this review is based solely on our experience in the bar area. The restaurant side may offer a completely different experience, and I can’t comment on that as we didn’t dine there. Based on our experience in the bar, I wouldn’t recommend it to female tourists.”

  “Steps away from Ground Zero is this iconic lower Manhattan gem! Pull up a seat at the bar and take in the thousands of emergency patches pinned up. A must stop in downtown”

  “We love this pub. As it is located right beside the 9/11 site, this is a ‚Museum of Badges‘ from police , firefighters and other services from all over the world. You can feel the history. Great drinks, great bar people, good pub food!”

  “Visiting Manhattan for a couple of days, place is very close to the 911 memorial. Stopped in on a Friday, got sar immediately, service was quick and friendly!! Food and drinks are great!! If I didn't live in Florida I would be back all the time!!!!”

  “Very nice Irish Pub style place. Near 9/11 memorial with police and fire patches covering the walls. Black and Tan was spot on. Food is basic pub fare - fries were well done and came out hot and crispy. Staff was observant and professional on busy Memorial Day weekend Sunday.”

  “Nice place to grab a bite to eat, very cool, the service si quick and very kind. We had the zucchini sticks, french onion soup and the shepherd's pie with the bbq chicken and bacon on a roll ( and of course, a beer) . Top, I recommend!”

  “Visiting O’Hara’s was one of the most meaningful experiences of our trip to New York. Being just steps from One World Trade Center, you can’t help but feel the history and emotion the moment you walk through the doors. This isn’t just another Irish pub—it’s a place with a story. Take the time to look around because every wall has something to tell. From the thousands of police, fire, and military patches and badges from around the world to the memorabilia left behind over the years, it’s impossible not to appreciate what this place represents. There’s also a book that walks you through the events surrounding 9/11 and O’Hara’s story, and it’s absolutely worth taking a few minutes to read. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the drinks were surprisingly affordable, especially considering the location. One of my favorite little touches was seeing the old-school cash register that’s still in use today—it adds even more character to a place that’s already full of it. O’Hara’s isn’t just somewhere to grab a drink. It’s a place to slow down, reflect, and appreciate a piece of New York City’s history. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’ve been to the city dozens of times, this is a place that deserves a spot on your itinerary. It’s a true New York experience and one I’ll never forget.”

  “Ohara’s is one of the best spots in Lower Manhattan. Walking in and seeing the place covered in thousands of first responder patches sets a unique vibe. This place is perfect for pulling up a stool, grabbing a beer, and catching a game. The bartenders are great! My girlfriend and I found this to be one of our favorite pub spots in the city.”

  “This place is a lot of fun but also a celebration of the people who take care of us, from first responders to military. It's especially amazing on the day before America turns 250! Oh, and the food is really good. I had the veggie burger (no upcharge for being vegetarian, unlike most places in Seattle)... Very yummy, as were the fries! Also, really really great service.”
