  “Went here for my anniversary with my fiancé and our server Brian was fantastic! The food and atmosphere were amazing. I got the New York strip which was cooked to perfection. I paired it with their chimichurri which was out of this world and I highly recommend it if you get a steak. To end the meal they surprised us with a small dessert for our anniversary. I highly recommend this place, I also highly recommend getting reservations as it is hard to get in!”

  “I had heard good things about RL, so when given the chance to have a business lunch here, I was happy to attend. Checking in we were given a table in the main dining room and seated way before this place got completely packed, about 20 minutes later. The dining room reminded me of an upscale RL store, with wood walls, bookcases, and similar upscale library style décor. Service was great… helpful, very professional, and friendly. The menu was filled with many great options and just when I thought I selected what I wanted, our server told us about their specials, which included a sea bass sandwich, so I went for that instead! We started with their pigs in a blanket – They were GOOD!! The mustard that accompanied them really added a nice touch to the flavor and the dough they were wrapped in was flaky and tasty. Next up was a bowl of their tomato bisque, again – RALLY GOOD!! The goat cheese in it added a nice, sharp flavor for each bite. The sea bass sandwich was excellent too! The jalapeño on it added a nice spice and the fish was so very soft, flaky, and flavorful! The bun was incredible too… Overall, a great sandwich! I look forward to returning… Highly recommend making a reservation and joining them!”

  “Absolutely gorgeous with signature "Ralph Lauren" decor in an intimate atmosphere. Fantastic people watching scene. Hostess was very friendly and accommodating to seating and our server was excellent. Food and martinis were top tier as well.”

  “What’s good? Gazpacho — have it. Fries — splurge. Atmosphere was 6/5 on a beautiful Friday in July. Admittedly we stumbled into the best table and view.”

  “I have been here quite a few times for brunch (never tried their dinner service), and it's always satisfying. Rather than order the crab cake benedict, we typically just order a crab cake as an appetizer (off-menu) which comes with cole slaw and an amazing sauce. It's one of my top crab cakes in the city. Their sandwiches / burgers are good, though the past few times I've been sticking to the chicken milanese - so good! The herbs in the breading, the butter it's cooked in, the refreshing arugula salad all come together well. I wish they'd bring back their Gatsby drink but will just stick to the old fashioned for now. The free bread and the amazing, soft butter are always appreciated - it's rarer to see this offered these days so please keep it going! One word of advice, especially on weekends - make reservations.”

  “RL sits adjacent to the Ralph Lauren flagship store right on Michigan Avenue, and the whole space carries that brand's signature aesthetic into a restaurant, dark wood paneling, leather booths, walls covered salon-style in art and photography, the kind of old-money English club atmosphere that feels intentional down to the smallest detail. It's a popular spot for ladies who lunch during the day and turns into a buzzing, well-dressed dinner crowd in the evening. We started with the chopped vegetable salad, which is something of a signature here, fresh and well-balanced, a nice lighter option before the heavier dishes arrived. The RL burger came next, and it genuinely lived up to its reputation, rich and juicy with a quality bun that held everything together, the kind of burger that makes you reconsider other restaurant burgers afterward. We also tried the lobster roll, mostly claw meat tossed in a lemon-herb aioli with just a hint of celery and chives, simple but well executed. One detail that stuck with us was the whiskey order arriving with a miniature polo mallet as the stirrer, a small touch that says a lot about the level of care put into the overall experience. For dessert, the Ralph's Coffee ice cream was smooth and deeply flavored, easily one of the better coffee ice creams we've had. Service throughout was attentive and polished, fitting for the setting. Weekday lunches tend to be calmer, while weekend evenings bring the full buzz and people-watching the restaurant is known for, busiest during evenings, weekends, and holidays.”

  “This has been one of our favorite spots, and we were excited to return tonight. That made the experience more disappointing than it might otherwise have been. Our server, Matthew B., was a standout - warm, attentive, and present throughout the entire meal. Apps, entrees, and dessert were all solid. The evening was marred by one interaction. We selected a bottle from the California red list (a wine we were familiar with) and found it tasted flat after opening. We gave it time to breathe, but it didn’t improve. When we flagged the issue to Matthew and offered to still pay for the bottle, he handled it graciously and looped in management. A manager then approached and suggested that “next time we should order a bottle we’re familiar with”. Given that we were familiar with the wine and the issue was with that specific bottle, the comment came across as dismissive. It colored the rest of the evening. Matthew’s service is worth returning for. The management response is worth noting.”
