About Bell Inn
The Bell Inn is a Hungry Horse pub in Yeovil, at 207 Preston Rd, and it opens daily. Families can use the outdoor play area for the children, while Sky Sports and TNT Sports are shown for sports fans and a pool game gives friends something to play. The food menu covers wings, nachos and burgers, and the fish and chips come with peas. Guests who eat sit at tables in a restaurant-style dining area. Drinks are ordered and collected at the bar, or through an app that requires users to be 18 or over, and ID can be asked for with alcohol orders.

Customer Review Summary
Food and value anchor the praise, with the cheese and bacon burger singled out as fantastic and generous in portion. Close behind, one reviewer found the salmon on a Greek salad cooked to perfection, and another called the food very tasty for a good price. Friendly, helpful staff come up repeatedly. Service is where reviews split. One diner saw several staff chatting at the bar while tables stayed dirty and sticky, and a swap of peas for salad came back with the peas still on the plate. Another says an app drink order was cancelled without a refund, and a third had a drink taken away over missing ID while food went cold. One reviewer reports dirty forks and glasses, and said the vegetarian lasagna looked awful. Still, one reviewer says staff check on their father at his regular lunches a couple of times a week.

“Disgusting cutlery and glasses. The knives and forks have dried food on them, found 7 dirty forks in a row and the glasses look like they have been used and sent out without washing. The vegetarian lasagna looked awful. Fish and chips were ok but the peas were probably cooked hours before and dry. Will never come here again. Staff were pleasant enough though.”

“Disgusting service from the manager Gemma! We’ve been regulars here for years and never had a nice welcoming vibe from her.. we ordered drinks through the app to take advantage of the discount. While stood at an empty bar we was asked by a member of staff, what we would like to order, we said we ordered through the app and they replied “I can make them now for you” Gemma stepped in and said they can wait 15mins while we take other orders. We said that’s okay but couldn’t understand why? Then she proceeded to listen in on our conversation on how frustrated we were and cancelled our order. WITHOUT REFUND! and kicked us out. Never had worse customer service than this in our lives. Truly outrageous!!”

“I had a wonderful meal with my son on Thursday 9th June. The food was good value with a great variety. Lilia was a very welcoming waitress and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we wanted. We'll be back soon 😃”

“The only positives here are the price and the food. I didn't see a single staff member smile once during my visit. The person who sat me just pointed at the table and sent me over on my own. I stood at the bar for a few minutes while 3 staff chatted at the glass washer before the manager asked one to serve me. I asked for a couple of changes to the meal (remove peas and chips and replace with salad) - it came out with peas! Asked for them to be removed and the girl had put the plate back down with the peas removed before checking it wasn't an allergy! Nothing had been moved to make the plate look full, just an empty space where the peas once were. The young lad who came to check on me had no personality and didn't smile while talking to me. Was ready to move on before my reply. At one point, 4 staff and the manager were stood chatting by the bar...but tables were dirty, everywhere seemed sticky... A couple arrived and were sent to the far end of the restaurant to find their own table without anyone actually showing them to it! Otfelt like a caravan park social club. The only saving grace was that the food was very tasty and for a good price. I try not to expect much but this place lacks the bare minimums of customer service in my opinion. With a bit of staff training and on-shift training from the manager, it could be a fantastic place.”

“Since mum died, dad has been coming here a couple times a week for lunch. All the staff are amazing with him, checking he is okay. Thank you especially to Harry and Kirsty who always ensure he is ok.”
