About The Bowling Green Inn
On Pen-Y-Bryn in Wrexham, The Bowling Green Inn is a traditional pub with a lounge and a bar, found at number 43. It hosts a quiz and domino league games, and a dart board serves the darts teams. The kitchen cooks home-style pub food in big helpings, with a burger and chips among the dishes. At the bar, Guinness is on tap alongside a real ale, 6X. Televisions show live racing, a jukebox sits in the room, and a bookies is opposite. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come above all for the home-cooked pub food, with big, plentiful helpings, a burger singled out as great, and good chips also mentioned. One describes the dinners as hearty, honest scran, and several call the food reasonably priced. Close behind is the friendly, traditional atmosphere, with regulars and locals described as welcoming and staff as friendly. The drinks draw praise too: a good beer choice, a nice pint of Guinness, and a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits, though one visitor found the 6X had run out and switched to Guinness. A great dart board and dart teams come up, along with live racing, a jukebox and a Sunday quiz. Dog friendliness is noted once. No recurring complaints appear. One visitor staying nearby from Glasgow had a good laugh with some regulars and said they would definitely be going back.

“Dawn runs a marvellous, traditional Welsh pub. In 1643 Oliver Cromwell set his cannons up on the site of what would become the future pub's namesake bowling greens, then he shelled the Parish church before burning a lot of the town. One thing that's never burnt however are the dinners that fly out of Bowling Greens kitchen. Superb, hearty, honest scran. Fine selection of beers, wines & spirits, great dart board + teams, too. All welcome in this midweek drinkers experience.”

“Lovely traditional pub. Great darts board. Live racing. Bookies opposite. Nice pint of Guinness. Good chips.”
- Wayne Owens
“Popped into this pub for the first time in a very long time with a small group for a quiet evening drink (or two) after a meeting. The atmosphere was very friendly, the beer choice was good, and the price was excellent.”
