Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the setting, with several sitting outside in the sunshine watching the game on the bowling green, and others citing the gardens and beach across the road and easy parking. Food draws specific mentions: a goats cheese salad with a huge portion, the Luxury Brockwurst hotdog with bacon, cheese sauce and fried onions, and vegan dishes including a lasagne and fiery bean chilli with fries. Hot chocolate gets praise, and one fussy coffee drinker found the coffee good, though another thought a small takeaway coffee was expensive. Staff are described as friendly and efficient. The complaints are detailed. One diner called a roast dinner dry, with burnt Yorkshires, shrivelled roast potatoes and tough beef, and noted the next table left much of theirs. Another said the sausages didn't seem fantastic. On a busy reopening day, burnt toast set off the fire alarms, the doors stayed open, and two small breakfasts arrived cold after a long delay.

“Visited for lunch with a friend. Friendly and approachable staff, lovely buzzy vibe in newly decorated restaurant, we sat outside watching the bowling. My goats cheese salad was AMAZING, huge portion, fresh and SO tasty. Will definitely be coming here again!”

“Love this cafe....it's so chilled, the service is great and everyone looks like they enjoy working here. Food/drink is good and reasonably priced, and it's an awesome location too. Easy parking so nothing to complain about 👏 👏 👏”

“Having read some poor reviews I was a bit hesitant coming here. As it was the service was friendly and efficient. I'm fussy about coffee and it's a very personal thing, I'd rate it 4 out of 5 which is good. Coffee, cake and dog ice-cream came to just over £10, so average price. The gardens and beach across the road are perfect for the elderly dog I was looking after. I wouldn't hesitate to make this a regular place. There's plenty of parking in the road.”

“Had the roast dinner today .it looked awful but gave it the benefit of the doubt ! Nope it was horrid ....dry hard burnt Yorkshires old wet shriveled roast potatoes ( not ) over boiled faded yellow peas , shrivelled burnt carrots and parsnips .red cabbage was nice and so was the broccoli cheese .I square cold chunk of stuffing and 2 good portions of beef ( as tough as old boots ) the dog is happy though .no photo as I didn't think to take a couple .good job I didn't take my insulin (t1 diabetic ) hubby said don't bother to complain as it was only about £18 ish each !!!! So unfortunately I didn't. The food in there is always lovely ,hot ,good quality but this was the worst ever roast I've had .the table next door left alot of theires too ! I so wish I'd have gone for a refund or an exchange”

“It's a shame , but Marine Gardens cafe is starting to get quite expensive. My daughter got a take away coffee last week , expensive £4.00 for a small coffee, same size as a baby chino. You need to look at your prices.”
