About The Crown at Woodbridge
The Crown at Woodbridge is a restaurant, bar and hotel on the High Street in the town centre. The kitchen runs a menu of 20 dishes, with fish and chips, roast beef, and sticky toffee pudding among the options, and the bar pours an Aperol Spritz or a Spritz Veneziano alongside. Breakfast covers a cold buffet plus hot food ordered to order, including poached eggs and scrambled egg with smoked salmon. Rooms come with both a shower and a bath, overlook the High Street, and stay quiet at night despite the central location, though the bar area can get noisy on Friday nights. The building has no lift. It's a walk-in operation, with free on-site parking and a roughly five-minute walk to the railway station.

Customer Review Summary
Guests most often come for the breakfast, singling out scrambled egg on sourdough with smoked salmon and poached eggs, with the hot dishes praised over a cold buffet one reviewer called adequate but not extensive. Close behind is the staff, described as welcoming and helpful, including help with luggage up the stairs since there is no lift, and a bartender who tempted a drinker into ordering food. Reviewers also praise spacious, clean rooms, free parking, and a quiet night despite the high street location, though one notes the bar area was noisy on a Friday evening. The main complaint comes from one guest who arrived to a boiler fault, was refused a discount, and woke to no hot water in the building. A second reviewer reports dirty outdoor tables coated in drink stains and food marks. The manager later phoned the guest with the boiler fault, apologised, and refunded the room cost.

“Our room no 7 on first floor was spacious, clean, comfortable, with both a shower and bath. Modernised in recent years. Everything worked well except one reading light but the maintenance man was off so fault noted rather than actioned which was fine as plenty of other lights.Only adverse comment with it was needing to drop the blind for privacy when it was still light. There’s no lift but the staff helped with our luggage. In the evening the bar area was quite noisy being Friday night but our room was quiet. Breakfast cold buffet choice was adequate but being a small hotel, not extensive. The hot food we ordered at breakfast however was fine with the poached eggs just right. Before arrival we lunched with family at a different pub so cannot comment on either lunch or dinner.”

“We stayed for two nights in January. First impressions, plenty of parking, and it's free. Then: it's very tidy and I mean throughout. The room was spacious and during changeovers you could see other rooms were just as roomy. ||There are ten …”

“Had a lovely stay on the weekend of 23/24 January. A warm friendly welcome, ample parking - free too. A lovely warm, cosy and comfortable room. The breakfast was amazing - the picture is 'scrambled egg on sourdough bread with Smoked Salmon'. The menu description was inaccurate, it should say 'loads of Smoked Salmon'!. We didn't have other meals there, but from what I saw, they looked really nice. We overlooked a High Street and the rear of the pub. Not a sound was heard at night, or any other time. We will definitely be back.”

“I don't know about this as a hotel as I only came in for a drink. But, for £7 a pint, I don't think it's asking too much for someone to clean the tables. They're coated in drink stains, food marks etc. Come on. It's a few minutes with a cloth to do the entire outside surely? Just makes everything a bit tatty unfortunately.”

“Had a lovely time, only came for a drink... However, the charismatic bartender had other ideas and swiftly tempted us with delicious food. The server (Sam? I believe to recall) was lovely, polite, and overall great conversation. Made me and my family feel welcome despite being in a new area. Great and friendly staff absolutely recommend 10/10”
