About Bistro@47A
Bistro@47A sits on the Thoroughfare in Woodbridge, the old market town on an estuary, running as a small bistro with a short, seasonal menu built around fresh ingredients. The kitchen turns out plates such as mushroom and blue cheese soup and sweet potato dauphinoise, with the selection changing as produce shifts. The team marks birthdays with a handwritten card for the guest of the meal, and they set aside a private table area dressed with confetti for the occasion. The room takes walk-ins, and the format keeps the focus on a tight, regularly refreshed list rather than a long standing menu.

“Lovely little restaurant, lovely food and very friendly staff. Will be back!”

“What delightful place! Saw it earlier in day and came back for evening dining. While the menu wasn't phone book long, it is fresh, seasonal and beautifully cooked and presented and l thoroughly enjoyed all - starter, main and strawberry desert - I can't recommend it enough! Service, like the food, is brought with sunshine and a glorious smile (Eric & Ern would be proud!)and much to my shame I did not ask her name so l cannot give her the praise she deserves. Nevertheless, she managed her covers with aplomb - graceful, humourous and effortless in her ability to be extremely helpful. The experience here was that of a charming and well run place to meet and eat and long may they continue! Make the journey again? Try and stop me.....”

“We went for a special birthday meal and were bowled over by Kerry and Paul’s warm welcome, the ambience and of course the food, which was divine. This time a a rare gem, serving fine seasonal produce, in a delightful old market town on the estuary.”

“Couldn't recommend Bistro@47A more. I booked for a birthday meal for my mum, we had a very private table area which the staff had decorated with confetti with mums age and got her a card. The details were so special. On top of all of this the food was delicious! Really reasonably priced for the quality of food. In particular the mushroom and blue cheese soup, the sweet potato dauphinoise were stand outs.”
