About House of Chaii (Wolverhampton)
House of Chaii is a small cafe in Wolverhampton city centre, at 19 Queen St next to Nando's. The kitchen serves English and Asian fusion breakfasts, including a Desi x English breakfast, with pancakes and French toast on the menu alongside brunch dishes. Chaii, tea and coffee share the drinks list with matcha options such as a white chocolate matcha, an iced hazelnut latte and an avocado and banana smoothie. A spicy doner kebab sandwich covers the savoury side beyond breakfast. Board games are on hand to play while you wait for your order. The cafe sits a few minutes' walk from the bus station and the Mander Centre, and pay-by-cash parking is available outside on the main road. A blue light and student discount is offered.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the Desi x English breakfast, described as delicious and big enough to share between two, with the desi thali for two and a spicy doner sandwich also singled out. Pancakes get mixed notes: the pistachio stack was called indulgent, while others found them doughy or very filling after the main, with one suggesting French toast as a lighter option. Drinks draw steady praise, especially the iced hazelnut latte, the avocado and banana smoothie, and the matcha, though two reviewers found the matcha too sweet for their taste. Staff are repeatedly called welcoming and friendly, and food arrives promptly and hot. Solo diners mention the music and the board games, and a few note the place is a bit small. Two solo visitors were handed a Nutella wrap on the house.

“I decided to pop in for a solo lunch break, the staff were really lovely and welcoming. They even gave me a Nutella wrap on the house which was a lovely touch 😊. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast, which came out in good time and was hot. Tasty vegetarian sausages, and the scrambled eggs and mushrooms were lovely. Thank you House Of Chaii.”

“Really lovely place! I went to House of Chai for breakfast on my own and had such a nice experience. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, and the chai coffee and street food were all really good. A Nutella wrap on the house, which was such a sweet surprise! ❤️ Loved the music too, they had a really good list of songs playing. Such a cosy, welcoming place, especially if you’re visiting solo. Definitely somewhere I’d happily come back to! ☕️✨”

“Wow – this place is a bit of a hidden gem. The staff here are lovely, and the service was prompt. The food was outstanding too, and very reasonably priced for the quality. I had the spicy donner kebab and mayo, three tier sandwich. The donner had a nice level of spice, and was delicately cooked – it was really very tasty. I also had an iced hazelnut latte which was absolutely spot on – I didn’t want it to end. I'll definitely come back here for lunch or breakfast. The menu looks pretty good and there’s a few more things I’d like to try yet.”

“Visited House of Chaii in Wolverhampton today and as always, it was great. We went for a late brunch and ordered the elite breakfast and Desi x English breakfast. Both meals were delicious and portion sizes were really good! With the elite breakfast, we also got a cake and opted for the school cake with custard and that was the perfect dessert to finish a great meal! We also tried the summer drinks menu and ordered an iced latte and summer strawberry cocktail. Both drinks were great and very much needed during this heatwave. Overall it was a great experience and definitely one of my favourite places in Wolverhampton. Will 100% be back!”

“Popped by for some lunch today and the food was lovely! I had a cheese omelette with parathas and my husband had the spicy doner sandwich. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and followed it up with an iced hazelnut latte and Maltesers milkshake. Also delicious! We’d definitely come again as the menu looks great.”
