About Keg & Comfort Micropub

Keg & Comfort Micropub is a real ale bar on Stafford Road in Wolverhampton, pouring cask-conditioned ales on hand pull from a regularly changing selection that includes local and rarely found brews. Real ciders and perries share the bar, and the team guides drinkers through the options. Snacks sit alongside the drinks for those who want something to eat. The room keeps things simple, with no TV or music so conversation carries the evening, and seating splits between a snug with a sofa and a main area of tables and chairs. Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. The bar's Facebook page carries up to date lists of what's currently pouring, and the door opens to walk-ins.

Customer Review Summary

The clear center is the range of cask ales and ciders, repeatedly praised as varied, ever-changing, and well-kept, with several reviewers naming the local selection. A close second is the friendly, chatty bar staff and welcoming local atmosphere. One reviewer notes a drawback: no kegged craft beer is offered, only cask. Several mention the dog-friendly setup, and one enjoyed the quiet seating without music blaring.

“Excellent dog friendly micropub. Lovely friendly staff and an excellent range of ever changing ales and ciders. Regular Facebook page updates allows you to see what drinks are available to plan your visit. Great place - definitely worth a visit (or two!).”

“If you're looking for a noisy, boisterous, karaoke, disco, sports bar, serving cheap cold lager... go elsewhere However, if you're looking for an authentic, friendly, lively, and dedicated, real ale micro pub, this is the place for you. A varied range of good quality, local and/or rarely found real ales can be discovered here, all served in excellent condition, by friendly and well informed bar staff. If ales aren't to your taste, then real ciders and perries are also available, along with cocktails, spirits, soft and hot drinks. The ambience and ethos of this pub is friendly to locals, welcoming to strangers, offering an interesting selection of ales, ciders, spirits, snacks and company, not to mention dog and child friendly, (if well behaved and leashed) Well behaved applies to both dogs and children, leashed to dogs only, 😆”

“Lovely quiet pub, staff were friendly and chatty with us, first time we had ever been in. We really liked that fact that there was no tv or music blaring so we could actually hold a conversation. Weather was warm and they had air conditioning units on which were awesome. Nice cozy seating area with sofa in a snug, or main area had plenty of tables and chairs. Great choice of local ales and ciders which we enjoyed tasting. So good we're going again today to sample the new flavours they have added....”
