About The Pineapple

On Lake End Rd in Windsor, The Pineapple is a country pub with 15th century interiors and separate menus for sandwiches and cider. The sandwich menu offers a large selection of fillings, including options for various dietary requirements, and the sandwiches are often paired with chips. Those chips are chunky and crispy, and the portion is suited to sharing. Pizzas also sit on the menu for guests who want something other than a sandwich. Dogs are welcome, so the pub works for those visiting with their pets. Parking nearby is limited.

Customer Review Summary

Sandwiches are the draw here, with reviewers repeatedly calling them huge and praising the wide choice of fillings, including options for different dietary requirements. Chunky, crispy chips come close behind, and several mention the pizzas too. Staff are described as friendly and efficient, service as quick without feeling rushed, and the beer garden and old interiors get a nod, along with a separate garden entrance handy for bringing a bike in. A few say the pub fills up quickly, and some plan to book in advance. The honest caveat comes from the weaker reviews. One diner waited a long time for Sunday roast plates, then found no cutlery or condiments, and described the Yorkshire puddings as overcooked and dry, with a rock-solid bread and butter pudding for dessert. Another found a pizza tasteless and an apple crumble that seemed microwaved. Even so, the staff were called apologetic and polite, and one table was offered a free round of drinks for the delay.

“The pineapple has been known for its incredible sandwich selection - been for the first time in 10+ years and still have my favourites and great to see the renovation. Staff are always help and attentive. Great Pub in Dorney”

“So, the food was lovely! But it took 55mins to come from the time we ordered, I appreciate it’s a busy Sunday and the pub is full but that’s a long time to wait. Thankfully we were offered a round of drinks free for the inconvenience. When our food arrived the plates were placed in front of us but no cutlery or condiments 😅 when we asked for cutlery we were told they didn’t have any so we’d have to wait … we waited around 10 mins for cutlery and comments to arrive to begin eating. We had to request English mustard. Again, the food was lovely, and we cleared our plates, however the Yorkshire puddings were an absolute abomination, awful! Over cooked dry and regretful. We ordered dessert, which again, took forever (30 mins) to come and when it did come it was pretty sad… my mums bread and butter pudding dry and basically rock solid, chocolate fudge sunday boring and not worth it at all. Service was ok and staff very apologetic but certainly not worth the service charge. Not sure about my parents but I certainly won’t be wasting my time or hard earned money to eat here again which is a shame.”

“The selection of sandwich fillings is huge with loads of variety for all dietary requirements. The chips were as chunky as many people have said plus crispy and tasty. The staff were friendly helpful and had good recommendations / knowledge of the menu. Service was quick when we visited but can imagine you would need to book at busy times. Would definitely return.”

“First time visit here for all 8 of us for drinks and chat after a meeting in Slough. After the first round had been bought at the bar, in the remarkable 15th century interiors, we then sat in the expansive garden, under the shade of a super-sized sun-umbrella (though the temperature had thankfully dropped a tadge by then) We benefitted from table service from a delightful lady (whose name I wish I'd found out). As a nominated driver, I'd used my alcohol allowance up with an ice-cold and thirst-quenching pint of Inch's Medium Apple Cider. So after that the nice lady let me go 'off-piste, as it were and indulged me with a giant mug of mocha and a type 2 diabetes inducing supply of sugar sachets! Joy!”

“The waiters and waitress who served us were polite and great, however I cannot say the same for the food. We came on a recommendation from a fella at Cliveden and realised it’s an ok place if you want to have a drink. My pizza was tasteless could have used a bit of salt in the dough and a ten year of could have arranged the toppings better, they were all over the place. We eat out a lot and try different pubs and restaurants, please take this as constructive criticism and learn from it. Will we return perhaps not , but that’s our choice. P.S. The apple crumble was Meh and seemed like it was nuked in the MW.”
