  “Our pre- show ( at Whitley Bay Playhouse)choice of place to eat. First time there. Wow - great welcome from one of the waiters and barman - comedy started our experience and carried on throughout - our waiter was a brilliant character. Ordering our favourite of Aperol Spritz - great start. Chicken Cacciotore for us 2 girls - hubby had a delicious pizza - ALL freshly cooked - we could see into the kitchen. Lovely food - lots of choices - definitely on our must return to list. You made a great start to our evening guys. Tiramisu was delish too xx”

  “My family and I visited this place last week on relatively short notice and, let me tell you, it was an exceptional find to say the least. Food was absolutely delicious, portion sizes were superb, customer service was A* grade, and prices were immaculate. We couldn’t believe our luck. Ticked every box. My grandpa (who can be fussy at the best of times lol) urged me to leave a good review on his behalf and so here it is - for good reason too.”

  “Just in Whitley bay for a night. Got there just in time for lunch. Was not disappointed, nice friendly service. Just had the basic pizza or pasta lunch. 3 courses for.£6.95. Could not believe it. With drinks £27. Food was lovely and fresh. Serving staff were amazing. Next time we visit will try another one of their specials. My husband does not eat Italian and I think we have now won him over. Definitely be back.”

  “The potato skins came with 2 sauces 1 mayo and smashing spicey mayo, the carbonara was amazing, and they offered extra cheese when bringing it over. Would defo have that again, it was also very filling. They also have a very wide range of drinks. While it was loud it wasnt over the top so if you get overloaded easy its best to go with headphones or go with someone you know. The icecream was good icecream with choco sauce over it. Overall a good place for a night out or a date. Me and my boyfriend approve.”

  “First time in Whitley Bay so didn’t want to go too far out of where I’m staying, and stumbled across a hidden gem. Raz was an incredible host and Emily was amazing behind the bar. I had the 3 course steak deal, which was immaculate and very reasonably priced in my opinion”

  “Absolutely love the food here! We’ve tried many dishes from the menu including the steak night, pizzas, pasta and more — everything has been fantastic. The homemade soup is especially delicious and tastes just like home cooking, compliments to Raz who makes it! Scarlet has looked after us many times and always welcomes us with a smile. Emily is new and looked after us yesterday alongside Scarlet — both gave excellent service and were so friendly. The two-for-one Porn Star cocktails were delicious and such great value too! We haven’t tried the carvery yet, but we definitely will soon. Highly recommend!”

  “We'd been meaning to check the glasshouse out for a while as we'd heard good feedback about it... it didn't disappoint us. Great value special offers £6.95 (3 courses!).. all great tasting, good portion sizes, and fast efficient service! Woukd definitely recommend the food. Not sure what the decor is aiming for, but it doesn't spoil your meal. 9/10 👍”

  “WILL NOT BE RETURNING god where do i even start, firstly we booked a table for the time we wanted to be seated not have to wait 15 minutes to even be acknowledged then we told someone will be there soon. after waiting and waiting we finally got seated got asked straight away if we wanted drinks we asked could you come back please, about 1 minute later someone else came back and asked again (almost like they wanted us out). food order was took with the waiter being VERY moody (along side every other worker there) apart from one lady and the owner (i assume). we waited 10-15 minutes for 4 soft drinks which the glasses were VERY dirty and then waited 45 minutes for our food. when our food got brung out they brung out the mains not the starters that we ordered so they must have just been forgot about. we had to tell them we were still missing one side and the starters they then brung them out with our mains. during the period of us eating our food i asked 2 times for tap water that was just not even acknowledge (AGAIN) we finished the food and we asked to be boxed up as other food was cold as we got given the food all at the same time. ice cream took longer then should have and strawberry sauce had clumps in it (not to sure what it was possibly expired??) we couldn’t wait to leave so we paid and left. i’ve visited glass house many times and it’s never been this bad. the workers were giving dirty looks all night and didn’t even get asked if food was ok (too busy talking to each-other) not bothered in the slightest about the customers. the music was also very load and we couldn’t even hear ourself speaking. but overall i will NOT be returning and we didn’t even get apologised to once about the experience”

  “My wife and I happened into this restaurant on a Sunday night not knowing what to expect. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like family. It has been one of the best nights of our 2 week trip around England to celebrate our 25-year anniversary. When we told the waitress about our anniversary, she came out with drinks and dessert and made us stand up for a round of applause from the guests. She made us Americans feel like family. For the quality of the meal and drinks, we were expecting something around $100. The total was $35. I honestly can't understand how they offer such quality in staffing, food, and ambiance at this price point. I only wish we were staying another night in town so that we could come back again. What a wonderful experience. We will always have a special place in our heart for her and this restaurant.”
