“We visited for the buffet, and overall, I would rate the experience 3 out of 5. The lamb curry and pork belly were the highlights and tasted really good. Unfortunately, most of the other dishes were quite disappointing. Even something as simple as the yellow lentil dal was surprisingly bland and lacked flavour. The dessert selection was also very limited. There were only vanilla and chocolate ice creams available, and unfortunately, the quality of the ice cream was very poor. The restaurant itself is in a great location and has a lot of potential, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. With better food quality, more consistent flavours and a wider dessert selection, the experience could have been much better.”

“This buffet has become a family tradition, the food is good, the curry is great, they have ice cream and fruit for dessert and you can repeat as much as you like. I would come here without any food in your stomach and with a lot of hunger so you can get the most amount of food out of your visit. The view is also amazing, you have ducks and swans swimming next to the river. Totally recommend is you are really really hungry.”

“We observed a concerning incident involving the chef at The Gurka Weymouth. Specifically, the chef was seen coughing over food, then blowing his nose into a tissue and subsequently handling food without washing his hands. When we attempted to bring this to the attention of a staff member and express our discomfort with dining under these circumstances, we were met with a dismissive and unprofessional response: "okay go and shut the door behind you." As an individual with an immune disorder, I consider this to be a serious breach of health and safety protocols, demonstrating gross negligence and posing a significant health risk.”

“Outstanding place.. if you are in or near Weymouth then please give it a try.. it will become a firm favourite. Best and well cooked buffet I have had in any city and their signature Gurkha curry (chicken or lamb) is sublime. I would go just for plates of that. We go everytime we are close enough to Weymouth.”
