About Fish 'n' Fritz
In Weymouth, Fish 'n' Fritz is a fish and chips takeaway at 9 Market St, serving British comfort food built around battered fish. Cod and chips anchors the menu, with haddock and battered halloumi as other choices. A gluten-free menu is cooked in a separate fryer, so gluten-free cod and chips is prepared apart from the standard orders. Customers can order a side of curry sauce with their fish and chips. The takeaway runs on a walk-in basis, with no booking needed.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cod, fried in a light, crisp batter and described as fresh, flaky and not too oily. The chips come close behind, crispy outside and fluffy inside, and one group's large order of regular portions left not a chip behind. Gluten-free diners report cod and chips from a separate fryer, and one says staff were helpful about a dairy allergy too. A couple of reviewers call the curry sauce tasty, one pairs a large cod with battered halloumi and chips and finds both excellent, and another orders haddock with a crisp batter and a decent size. Staff are called friendly, and a few mention a clean eat-in area that feels quieter than the busier chippies. Portions are described as generous. Two reviewers recall the same moment: the kitchen cooked a larger piece of fish because the first one looked small once fried.

“An excellent fish & chips shop. The cod was absolutely superbly fried, and coated in a crispy batter. The chips were excellent. They have an adjoining room for dining. It's not a restaurant with table service, but simply provides tables and chairs for customers to eat their takeaway (at no extra cost). Very nice staff.”

“Just the best cod and chips we have had. The batter was light and crisp and cooked to perfection. The lady gave an extra portion of fish as she thought what she had cooked had come up small (not sure it was that small but the extra was very welcome and it was all devoured) Lovely friendly staff too. Would definitely recommend and will be back.”

“I am a guide leader who brought her Guides and Brownies down to Weymouth beach last night. I reached out to Fish ‘N’ Fritz to see if they would be able to accommodate a large order (7 kids and 9 regular portion of chips), they happily accepted the challenge! The chips did not disappoint, the best that I have had in very long time. There was not a chip left!! Thank you so much Becky and your team, we shall be back next summer!!”

“I could not fault it here at all . They had a gluten-free menu with a separate fryer . The staff were so helpful because I can't have dairy either . Lovely sized portions ...and they even cooked me a larger fish because they didn't think the first one was big enough when it was cooked . Fantastic .”

“Decent fish and chips. I had the haddock and regular chips. The chips had a light crisp and were fluffy inside. Fish was good, batter crisp and decent size. Nice clean eat in section. Not as busy as the other chippy's and holds it's own. Come here if you want a break from the crowds”
