About Imperial Dynasty
Imperial Dynasty is a Chinese restaurant at 18-20 High St in West Malling, set in a dining room of exposed brick with large terracotta warrior statues that give diners something to look at between courses. Miniature warriors sit in the hearth, paintings hang in the hallway, and the decor runs in gold, burgundy, reds and purples. The kitchen keeps a gluten free menu, a vegetarian menu and a large vegan menu as separate lists, and the staff are knowledgeable about gluten free requirements. Prawn crackers are served as a starter and are not complimentary. The table layout allows communal eating. Reservations are required. The restaurant is locally known as "ID".

Customer Review Summary
The caveats are mainly about cost and access. Portions are described as smaller than a standard takeaway, and one reviewer says takeaway portions keep shrinking. Drinks are called expensive, with an alcohol free cider and a double vodka passing twenty pounds. Another complains prawn crackers are never complimentary, however much is spent. Wheelchair users describe one high step at the entrance and toilets up two flights of stairs, though staff were keen to help.

“Fabulous staff. The food portions are smaller than a standard takeaway service and the prices are more costly than some other restaurants or takeaway services but the food itself is exceptional as are the staff. The drink prices are quite expensive, especially for spirits. (An Alcohol free Cider & Double Grey Goose cost over £20). The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely & the restaurant is very elegantly decorated with lots of gold, burgundy, reds & purples. Disabled access here is very limited, especially for wheelchair users, as there is an initial high step into the venue, then you have to turn sharp left & through another door to enter into the restaurant. This would be incredibly tight for a wheelchair, I'm not sure it would be achievable. Also the toilets are located up two flights of stairs & there is NO ground floor disabled toilet.”

“A good Chinese however, takeaway portions are getting smaller and the prawn crackers are never complimentary, no matter how much you spend. £3.50, when they cost 10-25p to make.”

“Really nice quality food here! We've ordered on a few occasions, everytime it's always the highest quality and absolutely the best in the area. Staff are very polite and the restaurant is always mega busy which is a good sign 👍🏻 Order here and you won't be disappointed. 10/10 👏🏻”
