About Jade House
Jade House is a Chinese takeaway at 46 Tonbridge Rd in Maidstone, and it has been trading since 1960. That history sits alongside a menu covering Chinese, Thai, Malaysian and Japanese food, so a single order can draw from four cuisines. Vegetarian dishes run across the range for anyone avoiding meat. On the Chinese side, the kitchen makes crispy chilli beef, which also appears as shredded chilli beef. The shop is closed on Wednesdays and open the other six days of the week.

“Absolutely disgusting from start to finish. 🤢 We ordered delivery from Jade House in Maidstone and it was honestly vile — total junk, not nice at all. The food tasted terrible, nothing was fresh, and it was just really bad quality all round. Couldn't eat most of it, complete waste of money. Won't be ordering again, definitely not recommended 😕”

“Food didn't arrive after 90 minutes, called for an update and were told it would be 10 minutes, 25 minutes later still no food, another call to cancel the order. I understand it gets busy but a little honesty would be good.”

“Food delivered very late, don't be surprised if your shredded chilli beef won't have any beef”

Customer Review Summary
Crispy chilli beef is the dish reviewers raise most, and it splits them. One diner found it particularly good, with real heat unlike many other places. Others describe it as soggy and only half full, and one warns the shredded chilli beef arrived with no beef at all. Happier reviewers praise tasty, hot food, huge portions and friendly service, and one calls the place very clean. Another says delivery came sooner than quoted. The complaints centre on flavour. Several describe bland dishes, a sweet and sour that tasted mainly of vinegar, a beef chowmein where the beef did not taste like beef, and satay chicken in sauce that never mixed. One reviewer says the food seemed reheated from frozen and arrived lukewarm. Late delivery recurs too, and one diner who called twice for updates, each time told the food was nearly there, finally cancelled the order. A returning customer who was unimpressed before the change came back and found delicious food and large portions.
