Customer Review Summary
Reviewers mostly describe a decline in the fish and chips, with fish called dry, old or greasy and chips described as raw, bitty or low quality. One says the roe was thin under the batter on two visits, and several say prices have risen while portions have shrunk or become inconsistent. A kebab on naan arrived doughy in the middle, and a few mention rude service from the counter. Praise is limited but specific: one regular phones ahead for a Friday office lunch and finds quality consistent, and another enjoyed a plain chicken and chips portion and the friendly staff. Complaints about orders going wrong recur. One customer who asked for a veggie patty received lamb and got only a brief apology by phone. Another reported an undercooked chicken fillet burger from a delivery app, and the call asking for a replacement was cut off.

“I ordered through uber eats and my chicken fillet burger was raw, so I called the shop to see if they can deliever me a fresh burger. The man was so rude unprofessional and disconnect my call. Wasted my time and money.”

“Ordered a veggie patty but received a lamb patty! When called the shop there was no remorse, the lip service was sorry. Not sure how you can confuse a lamb patty for a veggie when the packaging clearly states what it is!”

“Food has really dropped in quality but has gone up in price. Chips are very bitty/small and when I took the batter of my roe last week the roe was very thin. Hoping it was a 1 off went back again this week. Just the same. Roe was 1cm thick. Sorry but we won't be back.”

“On the weekend I came to get food, the fish was so dry/old and the chips had black dots on them like uli. Seemed Like they haven’t been cleaned or cut properly. A lady with glasses was rude and I ask the young skinny short guy if fish is fresh & said he yes.It was definitely not fresh, it was like it was cooked and left for hours . I felt like going back to the shop and throwing the fish back face and asking him would he eat this. The second time this has happened, the first time I did not say anything but it’s the second time it has happened. I will pay the extra money and get food from another local chippy than Spon Lane that has good quality food, Spon Lane has gone so down hill!”
