Quick info
About DESI DHABA
Desi Dhaba is a family-run Indian restaurant in Wembley, on Ealing Road, cooking Punjabi dhaba-style food for more than 6 years. The menu covers meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes, with Indo-Chinese plates sitting alongside the curries and tandoori grills. Diners can start with the crispy paneer starter, pair palak paneer with garlic naan or aloo paratha, and finish with a mango lassi. The kitchen adjusts spice levels on request for guests who prefer less heat. Family celebrations and functions, including marriage parties, are hosted here, which makes it a fit for larger groups. The restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food itself, with tandoori chicken wings, garlic naan, palak paneer and a mango lassi singled out by one diner, and crispy paneer, aloo paratha and veg kolhapuri named by another. Generous portions and authentic desi flavours come up repeatedly, and several mention the staff as friendly and attentive, including one server who adjusted spice levels for a guest. One host describes a marriage party that ran smoothly. Complaints are fewer but specific. One diner found the aloo paratha slightly burnt and the gravy short on salt, and another was quoted wrong prices on a second visit and overcharged. A one-star reviewer describes cold food, long waits and a decline after a reported change of ownership, while another says a phone call about a menu and desserts for a group of six went unanswered, and the chef declared himself the manager. Another reviewer says parking nearby is tricky. A few visited when the room was nearly empty, and one still said they would return.

“BEWARE- new owners. Poor service, cold food and terrible waiting times. We've orderd from Desi Dhaba many times over the years, but yesterday was the WORST food id ever had and upon questioning the waiter, the restaurant has now been under new ownership. Therefore the quality and taste has gone downhill fast, I will never be visiting a family favourite restaurant again.”

“This review is for the owners and for anyone considering making a reservation. As a guest, I’d like to share my experience and offer some constructive feedback. Since you are in the hospitality industry, customer communication should be a priority. I called at 11:10 AM to request a menu for the evening so that my group of six could decide and make a reservation. Unfortunately, the response I received was disappointing and unhelpful. I also asked about dessert options, which is an important consideration for many guests celebrating special occasions. Again, I did not receive a satisfactory response. The most disappointing part was when I requested to speak with the manager. I was told by the chef that he was “everything” — the chef, manager, and decision-maker. At that point, I ended the call. Overall, the interaction left a poor impression. Good food is important ( that I even don’t know because I’m not coming anymore), but professional communication and customer service are equally important in hospitality.”

“Lovely restaurant, which I visited on two consecutive midweek evenings while working in the Wembley area. On my first visit, the experience was excellent from start to finish. The member of staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful when talking me through the menu and helping with dish selection, which made the evening particularly enjoyable. The second visit was slightly less smooth, as I was served by a different person who quoted incorrect prices and I was subsequently overcharged. While this was disappointing, it did not detract from the quality of the food itself, which was consistently very good on both occasions. Portions were generous, everything arrived at the table in good time, and the overall standard of the dishes was excellent. The restaurant was not busy on either evening, likely due to it being midweek, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Despite the pricing issue on the second visit, I would still return when working in the Wembley area and would recommend the restaurant to others.”

“I hosted our marriage party at Desi Dhaba Restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious with authentic desi flavors, and all our guests loved it. The staff was very cooperative, polite, and managed everything smoothly. The ambience was perfect for a family celebration and the service was on time. Thank you to the entire team for making our special day memorable. Highly recommend this place for any function. Thank you 🙂”

“I had a lovely experience at Desi Dhaba in Alperton. The food was genuinely good and the portion sizes were generous, which made the meal feel great value. The staff were nice, polite, and welcoming throughout. One thing to be aware of is that parking in the area can be a bit tricky, but that’s more about the location than the restaurant itself. Overall, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving tasty desi food.”
