About The Balti House
Opposite Acton Main Line railway station on the Elizabeth line, The Balti House is an Indian restaurant in London at 212 Horn Ln. Guests order and eat at a counter, where the food is cooked in front of them while they wait. Kebabs are grilled and roti is baked in the tandoori oven, so the cooking happens in plain view. The menu covers curry, daal, biryani and naan, and the chicken tikka masala is served with rice.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken tikka masala with rice is the dish reviewers name most, described as always cooked perfectly and very satisfying. Close behind are the kebabs, grilled fresh in the oven, and the daal, bhindi and roti, which one diner watched being cooked with fresh herbs and in the tandoor. Many are long-time regulars who say the flavours have stayed consistent over 15 years or more, and several like that the food is cooked in front of them while they wait. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and portions are described as generous and good value. One regular always eats at the counter and asks for extra chillies. The one sharply negative review says quality dropped after a change of owner. A takeaway order arrived with dry, overcooked chicken curry, a tikka masala so salty it was inedible, and tough, chewy naan. The mint yogurt was also too salty. When the reviewer phoned to complain, they were told the chef had gone sick and no one in charge was there.

“Excellent restaurant. Really helpful staff and absolitely delicious food! Loved the kebabs, which were grilled freshly in an oven and tasted so fresh. The daal and bindi were cooked with fresh herbs in front of me. The roti was also cooked in the tandori oven. I will 100% be going back again. I can see why they have been in business for 35 years!”
