  “If you want good service & good food DO NOT GO HERE! I visited with my partner on 8th April 2026 and we were not greeted or seated upon arrival. We found a table with 2 empty seats and placed ourselves. After waiting 10 mins to be served, we went to the tills and was informed that everything needed to be ordered at the till (despite them taking orders from other tables). I previously viewed the online menu, so knew what I wanted to order only to be told to "ignore" the online menu as not correct. I then ordered the avocado with toast with a side order of scrambled eggs. When my order arrived, it has lashings and lashings of Feta Cheese. I immediately flagged to Katie a staff member & was met with aggression and annoyance. Her comment " all our eggs come with feta". I explained that this was not flagged on the menu and she got more & more angry and said she would make me another one. Given all eggs come with feta cheese, I said it was ok, & asked for a refund. At this point, she kept saying on 5 seperate occasions that she would make me another one- again highly strung and highly annoyed. I proceeded to go back to the table and saw Katie immediately go to a colleague and was visibly complaining about me - at this point I felt targeted ( for being an ethnic minority) and wanted to leave immediately. I saw a manager, explained the situation and he was not accountable or apologetic. This was shocking given I explained this was my first and ultimately last time I would visit Ocean Bells. It was finally agreed I could get a refund - after 10-15 mins being in an uncomfortable environment where all staff now at this point were talking about me and staring with venom. This is customer service at its worst - lack of menu availability at its worst & quite frankly I will never go back there again. Ocean Bells management, please invest in effective staff training. Not all your customers are from the same background and all should be treated with dignity & respect even if a concern is raised about the food. Do better!”

  “My partner and I are regulars at Ocean Bells, we absolutely love everyone, and the food and coffee are fantastic. Our go tos are the vegan CBA Sandwich and the Vegan Chicken Flatbread, an amazing place for vegans. We noticed the more we come, the more love we receive. If you are in Watford, its a must.”

  “One of my absolute favourite coffeeshops! So many fun coffees and matches to choose from. Always seating available, including some comfy couches or seats outside. Friendly staff and super comfortable atmosphere.”

  “Great café experience. The coffee was smooth and rich, and the matcha was creamy and well balanced. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere made it even better. Would definitely come back!”

  “Great coffee shop in Watford. Lots of comfy seats, good selection of cakes and food menu. Lovely tea and coffee. Great atmosphere and good service. Had the breakfast sandwich with toasted sourdough, eggs, back and sausage - very good..”

  “We visit the shopping mall every few weeks and somehow missed this lovely coffee shop. It is nice to find an independent coffee shop that can serve good coffee and food at better quality and price point compared to the usual chains. It is very busy on the weekend and you will need to have some patience with service...but it was worth it. The food and coffee were really good. It looks like we found a new spot to rest from shopping.”

  “I thought the food and coffee was made really nicely. We had the breakfast sandwich and the Salmon bagel which were pretty good. However, they were very busy and evidently understaffed, service was incredibly slow. I queued for 10 minutes to order and waited another 25 minutes for the 2 coffees. The food took another 15 minutes after the drinks. So it took just under 1 hour to receive our order after arrival. For too long for a cafe. Went in the shopping centre and was served a slightly better coffee in under 2 minutes.”

  “Ocean Bells has become my go-to spot every weekend, and for good reason! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff always greet me with a smile. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, all of which are consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I love how they balance classic favorites with unique, creative options. It’s clear they care about quality and their customers’ experience.Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming vibe! My favourite branch is the smoked salmon and figs on toast with brie and chutney”

  “Overview: Café on Watford high street serving quality coffee, smoothies and freshly made brunch dishes. Pros✅: One of my favourite independent brunch places and coffee shop in Watford. The coffee they serve is of high quality and a large selection of breakfast/brunch items that is made to order and are reasonable priced. Highly recommend their chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich on sourdough. Servers there are also lovely and friendly ! Cons❌: The side salad served on the side of dishes can be a little dry and could do with a bit more dressing and still have to pay 40p for oat milk but other than that I can’t think of anything ! Recommended dishes: 🥪C.B.A. (Chicken, bacon, avocado) sandwich ☕️Flat white”
