About Coffee House 113

Coffee House 113 is a coffee shop at 113 Courtlands Dr in Watford, near a school. The owner is usually present and serves customers directly. Homemade cakes are the focus of the counter, including carrot cake, cheesecake and a cake called Ferrentino. Coffee drinks and sandwiches round out the menu, and oat milk is available for cappuccino. A croissant or a hot chocolate suits younger visitors. The space works for people who come alone to read or work on a laptop, and for those who meet friends to chat.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often return for the coffee, with cappuccino, latte and iced latte named, and an oatmeal cappuccino described as strong but not too bitter. Several call it the best coffee they have had in a long time. Close behind are the cakes and pastries, including homemade carrot cake, cheesecake and a Ferrentino, which reviewers describe as delicious, fresh and not overly sweet. One adds that the cakes come without a steep price tag, and another took some home. A croissant and hot chocolate also get a mention, and one reviewer says they still want to try the sandwiches. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as cosy, calm and welcoming, with comfy seating, music that is not too loud, and a mix of people chatting, reading or working on laptops. The owner and staff are called warm and friendly, and one server gave suggestions about the cakes. No recurring complaints appear. Reviewers close on the sight of regulars, one even singing a little Christmas serenade, and strangers sparking up conversation over coffee.

“I love it here, it's a special little Coffee shop where you can really chill and enjoy. The staff are warm and friendly, it's one of those places where you can happily sit and watch the world go by, It's what I call a real community Coffee shop because even though you may not know anyone in there, people seem to still acknowledge each other with a smile or a nod, or in my case just spark up conversation with strangers lol! :) People come to get together and chat, others come by themselves to snuggle into one of the chairs and read a book, others bring laptops and work away and I always wonder if anyone is writing a book and we're witnessing the next J.K.Rowling . I always opt for a Cappuccino and occasionally a naughty slice of cheesecake too Would defo recommend :)”

“Really impressed by the quality here. The coffee is smooth and well made, and you can tell they’re using good beans. The cakes and pastries taste fresh and not overly sweet, which I really liked. The place itself is cosy and well kept, and the service was friendly. Definitely a great spot if you want good coffee and proper bakes.”

“I love this cafe. It has such a calming atmosphere. Cakes and pastries are so tasty, coffees are big and full of flavours. The owner (who is there pretty much 24/7) is lovely and friendly. Would recommend you visit over and over again.”

“Just happened upon this gem of a coffee shop yesterday in the area having dropped kids at Harry Potter. Coffee was the best I've had in ages. Absolutely delicious luxe cakes without the price tag! I took some home with me. The atmosphere is quiet but warm & welcoming. Plenty of regulars....some singing a little Cmas serenade!! It has beautifully serene and calm decor inside and the lovely lady serving all this up was so friendly and the service was spot on. This is the kind of place I wish I had on my doorstep....but I would be in eating those cakes & drinking that superb coffee every day...probably not what my waistline needs!! ...But definitely good for your soul! Lucky you if you live nearby!”
