Quick info
About The Hatton Arms
The Hatton Arms is an 18th-century coaching inn and restaurant on Birmingham Rd in Warwick, overlooking the Stairway to Heaven locks on the Grand Union Canal. The Hatton locks sit close by, which gives the inn a canalside setting for a meal or a drink. The kitchen serves fish and chips and a mariner fish pie, and a sharing board is also on the menu. Real ales stand alongside the food, among them Harry's Heifers, a local Church Farm brew. Lunch and evening meals are both served, and a traditional Sunday roast is part of the offer. Dogs are welcome inside and out.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food, singling out the mariner fish pie, with its buttery mash, and the crispy, light fish and chips, though one calls the price slightly high for generous portions. Real ales earn a mention too, with one drinker comparing Butty Bach against a local brew and finding both tasty. Several describe a warm, welcoming, dog friendly pub with a garden and friendly, helpful staff. Service is where the complaints cluster. Some report slow service and empty plates left on the table long after finishing, one saying it put them off ordering dessert and another drink on a birthday meal. Others mention a chewy, undercooked steak, a sharing board called overpriced with overdone wings, and a starter flatbread that arrived raw and was still undercooked when replaced. One reviewer notes various staff asking for the same order. Two describe billing mistakes, including a set menu starter charged at full price, and an automatic service charge that was only removed when they asked.

“As others have said the service was very poor. Really slow ! The food was fine apart from the steak being very chewy and undercooked. But once we finished our meal it took far to long for someone to clear our table. We were going to get dessert and probably another drink each but after sitting there being ignored for so long we didn't bother . Bit of a downer considering we were out for a birthday meal. Nice place n decent food but the service needs a big improvement!”

“A really great pub, we walked up from hatton locks through there garden and it looks a little basic from the outside but inside it is absolutely beautiful. Everyone on our table had excellent food, hot, good portions and tasty. However, when it came to the bill, I had ordered the 2 course meal for 20 pounds (ish) but they charged me full price for my main and 5 pounds for my starter, I asked for the bill to be rechecked, it came back and it was still incorrect. This took a bit of time a little frustrating to say the least. 10% surcharge also automatically applied which i also despise. They did remove it when asked. However, we would return its a lovely place!”

“Was good, second time coming but not as good as first. Came with my father. Had a sharing board that was massively over priced for what it was. £26 for a single sausage, 6 tiny chicken wings, some salad and 4 or 5 small pork ribs. The wings were very much over done and very crispy. My dad had Pollock and didn't seem to be very impressed with it, telling me it was pointless complaint about it. Fortunately I had some old Hatton vouchers from working there so could spend there and got free food essentially. Server also not in standard Hatton arms uniform (the guy had prince harry hair and beard). Having previously met the owning family, I know they would be really angry about staff not in uniforms. Do not think we would be returning especially now I have no need to return to the area outside of personal reasons.”
