About Benugo Bar & Kitchen at Warwick Arts Centre
Benugo Bar & Kitchen at Warwick Arts Centre is a restaurant at the University of Warwick in Coventry, positioned for pre-show meals near the Arts Centre. The menu runs from pizza and tandoori chicken to scampi and chips, with tiramisu to close, and a harissa cauliflower steak alongside a vegan pizza cover the vegan options. Once a month, on a Friday, live jazz plays while diners eat. Customer Review Summary
Diners consistently praise the pizza as a standout, with several calling it among the best they've had, alongside recurring mentions of the tandoori chicken and scampi and chips. The restaurant's role as a quick pre-show meal comes up repeatedly, with servers noting rush timing and getting food out fast so groups can make curtain time. Service is the dominant theme throughout, with staff described again and again as attentive, warm, and efficient even when busy, and one visit noting service slowed as the restaurant filled up. A few note minor stumbles, like a side dish that needed a follow-up nudge or difficulty catching a server to pay the bill, though these are quickly resolved. One reviewer flags the beer and wine as expensive enough to limit them to lunchtime visits without alcohol, and another wishes for more vegan protein options beyond the cauliflower steak. Many describe returning multiple times, often timing visits around Warwick Arts Centre shows, with one recalling a server writing their names on a coffee cup as a small personal touch.

“We visited Benugo on 24th July 2026, for a meal after my friend's postgraduate graduation, and our server Max made the whole experience special. He was kind, attentive, and genuinely warm from the moment we sat down, checking in on us regularly without being intrusive, and clearly taking pride in his work. He struck the perfect balance of friendly and professional, and it really added to the celebratory mood of the day. Thank you, Max, for making it even more special!”

“We visited the restaurant ahead of a show at Warwick Arts Centre. My brother in law and I had the tandoori chicken and both agreed it was the best we had ever had. Michelin quality and beautifully presented. Definitely recommended and great value”

“Had an amazing meal here today, the service was fantastic, they went above and beyond. Everyone had a smile on their face and had such a good sense of humour despite being busy. Special hats off to the chef who did an incredible job, they deffo need a raise. I would personally recommend the harissa cauliflower and the tandoori chicken. I’m indian myself but they definitely did this dish justice. Would 100% come here again”

“James was fabulous. He was able to answer questions about menu choices, checked what he was unsure of and followed up to make sure we were happy with menu choices. He checked back on how we were enjoying our meal and engaged our dancers in conversation. Great experience, thank you”
