About The Botanist Warrington

The Botanist Warrington is a restaurant in Warrington, at 2 Time Square, where house bands play live music each week alongside a bar built around botanical cocktails. The kitchen cooks gastropub-style dishes, with Hanging Kebabs on the menu, and the bar also pours draught beers and wine. Floral decorations run throughout the interior. A private dining room gives groups their own space, and the venue has hosted events such as a wedding reception and a Valentine's sharing menu. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary

Live music and atmosphere are what reviewers raise most, describing a lovely, lively room with flowers and decorations, and a band that added to evenings from a Valentines sharing menu to a wedding reception where part of the terrace was sectioned off for guests' drinks. Food earns praise for flavour and presentation, and one diner recommends the Hanging Kebabs. Another finds the menu essentially pub grub and not particularly standout, though nice enough. Several describe friendly, helpful staff who checked allergies repeatedly, and creative cocktails draw praise, with one calling them nice but expensive. The recurring complaint is slow service. One reviewer says it has been fairly consistent across group sizes and visit times, with a long gap between finishing mains and ordering dessert, and would not suggest the place to anyone with commitments afterwards. One evening ended with mojitos beside the impressive water feature.

“Had an excellent meal here, the food came out promptly and both of our meals were delicious. The restaurant itself was spotless and had a lovely atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was the service from Jo. She was incredibly welcoming, attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit despite being busy. Her professionalism yet friendly warm manner is the reason we will be returning with friends. Thank you Jo!”

“What an amazing place, such a great experience for our family today. Celebrating 2 birthdays, the staff simply couldn't do enough for us. Nicely attentive and food ad drinks were absolutely superb. So much thought and attention, and very good care of my allergies too, absolutely faultless and we shall definitely be back. Its very rare that we find a great place these days. We cannot thank you enough.”

“Second time here in 2 weeks because we loved it so much! Beautiful environment, really amazing food with exceptional presentation and lovely staff! My 9 year old daughter pointed out how lovely Heidi, our waitress was, so smiley and happy to be there! The Jo, the new Manager got our drinks whilst we nipped to collect something from the Market then asked us what we got and chatted with us. It really is a 5 star place in every aspect and compliments to the Chef & Staff :) Thank you for making our last day of the holidays a special one Jo & Team xxx”

“Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere and staff. It is always a great place to visit, with delicious food, creative cocktails, and a really nice, lively vibe. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and it’s a place I’ve enjoyed visiting at different times of day and in both small and large groups. Service can be on the slower side, and this has been fairly consistent across different group sizes and visit times. On one visit, there was around a 45-minute wait between finishing mains and ordering dessert, which was longer than expected. That said, the team are always polite and helpful, and the quality of the food and overall experience is still really good. Definitely recommend overall, just be aware that service can be abit slow, so wouldnt reccomend if you have other commitments afterwards you want to make on time.”
