“Best Indian food in Warrington. Not the usual N Indian and Bangladeshi menu, but food from Kerala in S India. Totally different food / taste / spices. Outstanding and totally recommend 👍🏻👍🏻”

“Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Money I had a really disappointing experience at Black Gold Restaurant today with my family. We chose this restaurant because we had seen good things about it and expected to have a nice dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different, and we left feeling extremely disappointed. We ordered 4 chicken biryanis, beef ullarthu, masala chai, coffee, and mint lime, and our total bill came to around £65. Considering the amount we paid, we expected much better food, quality, quantity, and overall value for money. The chicken biryani was the biggest disappointment. The quality was very poor, and the portion size was quite small for the price. There were several pieces of chicken, but the pieces were extremely tiny. The rice itself did not feel like a proper biryani at all. It tasted more like ordinary ghee rice layered with chicken curry. We were expecting a flavorful, authentic biryani, but unfortunately, it was nowhere near what we expected. For us, the biryani was an utter disappointment and a complete flop. The beef ullarthu was around £10, and while I have to say that the taste itself was actually quite good, the quantity was extremely poor. The portion was very small and definitely did not feel worth £10. When paying that much for a dish, we expected a much more reasonable portion. The drinks were also disappointing. The masala chai was far too strong and bitter, and I could clearly taste the bitterness. The coffee was also very bitter and not pleasant to drink. The mint lime was another disappointment. It tasted more like water mixed with a huge amount of sugar, along with a very generous amount of mint. It was not refreshing or well-balanced at all. That being said, I would like to mention something positive about the customer service. The waiter, the gentleman wearing glasses, was very good and polite, and we had a positive experience with his service. He was attentive and helpful, and the customer service itself was good. Unfortunately, the food was a completely different story. Despite the good customer service, the overall food experience was a total flop. The quality, portion sizes, and taste of several items simply did not justify the price we paid. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience for our entire family. Spending around £65 and receiving such small portions and poor-quality food was extremely frustrating. We genuinely chose this restaurant expecting something much better, but unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the food quality, portion sizes, taste, and value for money. The customer service was good, but unfortunately, good service alone cannot make up for food that was this disappointing. Based on our experience today, we would not recommend the restaurant for the food, especially considering the prices.”

“For sure the best Indian food I've eaten in Europe in a long long time. We loved the food so much we came here 2 days straight and got some take away too! The food is authentic kerala cuisine which is very difficult to find. The spices mix/masala felt freshly made and not store bought. Then parota was home made and flaky. The appam was soft and fresh. The curries had an authentic South Indian flavour true to the kerala style of cooking. The masala chai was refreshing and soothing. I come from Sweden and I wish we had food of this quality there. I am very impressed with the restaurant. I can not recommend this enough.”

“This is a Kerala fine dinning restaurent in Warrington, UK. The non-veg food was quite amazing. The egg roast, prawns, aapam, dry mutton, and onion bhaji were excellent. They have some good Indian beers as well. The service was very good although they are under staffed. We has a full three course meal. Only we did not try deserts. Overall it is one of the best south Indian restaurant.”
