About East Orient
East Orient is a buffet restaurant in Warrington, at 54 Horsemarket St, where diners go up and choose their own food from an all-you-can-eat spread. The buffet mixes Chinese and Indian dishes with basic English plates such as chicken nuggets and chips, so a table can pull from all three. Starters, mains and desserts are laid out, and seaweed is part of the range. Eating is time limited, and staff remind diners how long is left. The team clears plates and tops up the buffet as it runs. Soft drinks such as Pepsi are ordered at the table and are not refillable.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the buffet's wide variety, with several praising dishes that range from Chinese to Indian and basic English fare like chicken nuggets and chips, plus seaweed, which one calls unusual. Food is described as hot, fresh and constantly topped up, though another finds it a little cold and slightly soggy, and one criticises the dessert as old, soft kiwis. Close behind is the welcoming staff, called friendly, polite and quick to clear plates, while others describe staff watching diners eat, a manager reminding one table of the time left, and a waitress who tried to get a group to make their own drinks. Opinions on price split between good value and overpriced for a family with drinks. Cleanliness draws repeated concern: spiders in the main toilets, a greasy floor where one diner nearly slipped, and a less clean buffet area. One reviewer reports that the whole family had diarrhea after their visit. One diner describes being insulted in Chinese after asking for a service charge to be removed.

“If I could give zero I would. Only good thing about this place was the decor and the toilets were clean, but for what it’s actually charging and the options. It’s a rip off. We went as a five and got large drinks each, not many options, and staff stood there watching people eat and laughing at them. Very intimidating and patronising. The dessert were so rubbish, it was like soft and very old kiwis that were left out. Upon finishing, a service was applied then I asked them to take it off as I didn’t believe that they deserved it and the man insulted me in Chinese. Safe to say, one and done. First time going there and never will be back! Bad business.”

“Not the biggest range of food I've known but a big range of food nonetheless. Unusually, there was seaweed. Too many dishes were chicken for my liking. Everything was well cooked and fresh. A few things I expect at Chinese buffets were missing such as lychees. The price was good at £20 each including the soft drink.”

“Had a brilliant visit to East Orient! The buffet had a great variety of food, all fresh, hot, and constantly being topped up. There was something for everyone, and everything we tried was really tasty. Service was excellent – staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to clear plates so you could enjoy the next round without waiting. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a family meal. We all had a great time and left full and happy! Great value for money as well. We’ll definitely be back 👍”

“Excellent service. Nice interioror. Good food variety. Delicious. But... Floors greasy and slippery,my wife nearly slipped fell over .Shandy I ordered smelt like piss scooped from urinal and tasted horrible. Half an hour later after the visit all of our family had diarrhea. Definitely something was wrong with the food. Doughter has noticed they got only 3 stars food hygiene rating. Not coming back to this place again.”

“The food was ok, I'd never been before so I'm not sure what time is best to go at. When we were in there the staff were watching us eat which made me a bit awkward. There wasn't really a service but the guy who I'm assuming is the manager kept on reminding us how long we had left to eat our food and how we couldn't get anymore food (which we weren't anyway) as we were done eating, it felt a bit rushed but I know they have a certain time that they do the catering but he could have waited till we were done and it wasn't just us in there either. Food is a little bit cold and I'm not sure how I feel about cleanliness as I'd heard about the hygiene but I thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt, I can say it is mostly clean but the all you can eat area wasn't as clean as it should be.”
