About Bombay 8 Indian Restaurant
Bombay 8 Indian Restaurant serves Indian food on Gemini 8 in Warrington, with a menu that pairs regional dishes with less familiar ones. Starters include a tiffin plate that brings chicken tikka, samosa and bhaji together, so a table can sample three items in one order. Among the mains, the lamb karahi and the lamb biryani sit alongside tandoori chicken. The kitchen also sends out poppadoms with mango chutney and a tray of chutneys and condiments, and naan bread to go with the curries. The dining room has a modern look, and white table cloths cover the tables.

Customer Review Summary
Curries draw the most praise here, with reviewers singling out a thick, rich lamb karahi with tender lamb chunks, a creamy korma, and a nicely spiced lamb biryani. Tandoori chicken is called juicy with a great charred flavour, and one diner calls the paneer perfectly cooked. Close behind are the breads and starters: a soft, pillowy naan, a hot, fresh peshwari, and onion bhajis described as crispy and enormous. One reviewer found the bhaji in a tiffin dry and chewy. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and lovely, several note food arriving quickly and very hot, and a few describe a quiet lunchtime with a table straight away. The main complaint comes from one diner who called service poor. A request for vinegar never arrived, and the bill had to be asked for four times while a waiter stayed on a phone call, until the original waiter finally brought it. Other reviewers close on the poppadoms, crisp and light, served with a mango chutney and a condiment tray.

“The curry was very, very good. We tried most of the menu to be honest and the food was fantastic. Ill be making the trip here a few more times for definite. From my 6 year old daughter to my 105 year old grandfather, everyone cleaned their plates, we where served really well and really well looked after, prices where great. I went past this place about 8pm and it was jam packed. So we come on a lunchtime, it was very quiet, so got a table straight away, food served really fast, I cant think of any negatives. Resturant is a good size and very nice inside. 100% recommend. Best curry house in warrington by a mile.”

“Very quiet at lunchtime with helpful staff to serve and a lively kitchen. A comfortable atmosphere with plenty of seating for any sized group. Clean and modern with stylish fittings and wall decor, but could do with some light background music for a better ambience. The Tiffin starter was a Chicken Tikka, which was good; a samosa, which was hot and well filled; and a bhaji, which was quite dry and chewy without a whole lot of flavour. The rice was cooked well with good texture. I chose the Lamb Karahi, which was thick, very rich and flavourful, with a very good number of tender lamb chunks. Also included with the Tiffin were 2 poppadoms, which were crisp and light; a pot of mango chutney, which had a sharp vinegariness to cut through the sweet fruitiness; and a pot of chopped onions, which I didnt use and so can't comment on. The Peshwari was hot and fresh. A thick, charred dough filled with a sweet almond paste. Excellent for chasing any remaining curry and/or chutney! Overall, very good portions of high quality, super tasty, satisfying food at very fair prices.”

“Visited last night and although the food was lovely the service was poor. I asked for vinegar and it never came then in finishing our meal asked for the bill, never came so asked for the bill again nothing however the waiter was just standing behind the bar area then he came over to the table next to us and started serving them food so we looked at him for the 3rd time and he said it’s coming so he clearly knew. After around another 5 minutes I decided to go upto the bar to pay another older waiter said yes? I said can I pay please he said just a minute and picked up the phone. I said no I’m not waiting any longer I’ve now asked 4 times to pay and he still carried on with his phone call until the original waiter than placed the bill in front of me.25 minutes to produce a bill and there were only 4 other tables with customers on at this point. Shocking!”
