Customer Review Summary
Diners consistently single out the Sunday roast and steak and ale pie as standout dishes, often paired with local lagers like Utopian or a pint of Guinness. Many praise the quick, welcoming service and the ability to accommodate dietary needs, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. The cosy atmosphere, complete with a wood-burning fireplace and a friendly pub dog, adds to the appeal for visitors, including those from nearby resorts. A few note the busy environment and one reviewer describes being asked to leave while on a phone call, citing an unusually strict atmosphere and a rude interaction with a server in an apron. Several highlight the generous portions and the quality of the desserts.

“Went here for dinner. Service was very quick and high quality food. They cater for different allergy’s and preferences, gluten free, dairy free, vegan and vegetarian. They were very helpful and patient with all my questions about this. All …”

“We loved our dinner here on Thursday evening. Very busy little local countryside pub, they initially were not sure if they could accommodate us as we did not book but they managed to squeeze us in and we’re so glad they did. We had a pizza and the chicken dish and it was all cooked to perfection and really tasty home cooked food! Generous portions and fantastic desserts too. Well worth booking if staying in the area or at the nearby resort as the food here is so so much better than what’s available there!”

“Lovely pub, however very strange atmosphere, was told to leave while taking a phone call. And everyone is told to whisper. The two male servers were wonderful so welcoming and kind. The women one in an apron very very rude. And told me to get off my phone so we soon. Left and headed back to the mole resort”

“Cannot rate rooms as did not stay here but went late last night and they managed to squeeze us in for a table of 2. The staff were all lovely including the manager. We got seated very quickly it was nice that the manager respected his chef to ask him before putting us in due to them having a lot of tables arriving which we found lovely. Food was amazing though and very quick. I am pescatarian also and there was menu choice.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
