Customer Review Summary

Sunday roast and carvery lead the praise, with diners calling the Sunday lunch outstanding, saying every dish was perfect, and one saying it beats other carveries they have tried. Steak night is close behind, with the steak described as melting in the mouth and the chips also singled out. A chicken burger and a steak stroganoff were both called fantastic. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as friendly and welcoming, including at a wedding and a birthday gathering for 35 people, and a few mention the live acts and shows. The one critical review found the downstairs room dark, dated and without atmosphere, and said the upstairs shown on social media was not open. It also said the dish three of the four in the party wanted had sold out by early evening, and called the food ok but nothing special, though the servers were polite. One vegetarian diner had veggie stuffing made specially for the Sunday roast.

“Made a last minute reservation on a recommendation, really pleased we came across this place. The whole team went above and beyond, the food was amazing and even made veggie stuffing for me (my favourite on a veggie roast), our family were all very impressed with the Sunday lunch and will definitely be visiting again soon. A hidden gem! 😊”

“Sunday roast was outstanding. 4 adults and 1 child.. all dishes were perfect. Really friendly and welcoming vibes. Just wished we lived closer! Will definitely be returning to try the weekday menu. And will be recommending to friends and family!”
  • Jo Smith
“I had high expectations for this place but it was very disappointing. Went tonight for the first time and unfortunately the last. We went for a birthday meal and the only thing on the menu that looked any good that 3 of us out the 4 wanted had sold out at 7.15pm! Their best seller yet they hadn't got enough. Ended up spending £70 on something we didn't really want. It was very dingey and dark. The upstairs they portray on social media was not even open and we ended up in the downstairs bit that needs big.improvements as its dated. There was no atmosphere in there at all. Servers were polite and friendly however so cannot fault them at all. All in all the food was ok but it wasn't anything special so sadly won't be returning.”

“Had a Birthday gathering here for 35 people today. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The food was impeccable and the service was second to non. Everyone was warm and welcoming even though it was such a large party. Will definitely be returning.”
  • Kevin White
“Dine here on a regular basis. The food is always impeccably cooked and the service is absolutely the best ! Would not dine anywhere else ( Ps. Travelled extensively and enjoyed cuisine all over )”
